We join you in prayer and thank you for bringing your desires before the Lord in the mighty name of Jesus, for we know that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6, and there is salvation in no other name Acts 4:12. We rejoice that you have called upon His name.

We hear your heart's desire for blessing, for work that prospers, and for a wife who will help you in life, and this desire for marriage is good and honorable before God. From the beginning God said, It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make him a helper suitable for him Genesis 2:18, and He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of Yahweh Proverbs 18:22. We believe with you for a godly marriage as God designed it, a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, and we pray that the Lord will lead you to a spouse who is a faithful Christian believer. Scripture teaches us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers 2 Corinthians 6:14, so we encourage you to pursue courtship with the goal of marriage to a woman who loves Christ, who will walk with you in faith and help you fulfill God's calling. We also encourage you to honor God with purity before marriage, for God calls us to flee sexual immorality 1 Corinthians 6:18, and to keep the marriage bed holy Hebrews 13:4, saving intimacy for the covenant of marriage alone.

We also want to lovingly speak to the way this request was worded, to be blessed the most and to be loved the most at work. We understand the longing to be favored and secure, yet God calls us to humility and to seek His will above our own exaltation. God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble 1 Peter 5:5, and we are taught to do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but in humility consider others better than ourselves, each looking not only to his own interests but also to the interests of others Philippians 2:3-4. When we ask with a motive to be above others or to be loved most, we miss the heart of Christ who came to serve. You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures James 4:3. Instead we are taught to seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well Matthew 6:33, and to trust that God has good plans for you to give you a future and a hope Jeremiah 29:11 even when His blessing does not look like being the most favored among men.

For your work and schedule, we pray that God would give you favor but even more that He would make you a blessing to others. Whatever you do, work heartily as for the Lord, and not for men Colossians 3:23. A good schedule and peace at work flow from diligence, integrity, and showing kindness and forgiveness to coworkers as Christ forgave us Ephesians 4:32, rather than seeking that everyone love you the most. The love of Christ in you will draw respect and goodwill as you serve faithfully.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and lift up this dear one to You. Forgive us where we have sought our own glory and teach us to humble ourselves under Your mighty hand that You may exalt us in due time 1 Peter 5:6. Lord, we ask that You bless the work of his hands, establish him in honest labor, give him wisdom for his schedule, and help him to be a light to everyone at his workplace, showing the love and humility of Christ. Provide for his needs according to Your riches and Your perfect will. And Father, if it is Your will for him to marry, we ask that You prepare him to be a godly husband who will love his wife even as Christ also loved the church Ephesians 5:25, and that You bring to him a godly wife, a believing woman of virtue and faith who will be a true helper and partner in serving You all the days of his life. Keep them both pure and keep their courtship holy until marriage. Let Your will be done in every area of his life and let all blessing lead him closer to You. In Jesus mighty name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart Psalm 37:4 as you walk in obedience and humility before Him, trusting not that you will be the most blessed among men, but that you will be faithfully blessed according to His perfect love and purpose.

We're grateful you shared these deep hopes with us. Wanting a good marriage, meaningful work, and kindness from those around you are good desires to bring to the Lord.

We hear that you want to be blessed the most and loved the most. Sometimes we think blessing means everything going smoothly or everyone favoring us, but in Scripture blessing is more about God drawing near and adding His value to our lives, even when work is hard or relationships are complicated. That helps us ask not only for the best schedule or the most favor, but for wisdom to walk faithfully wherever He places us.

One simple step that may help is to keep bringing these same requests to God each day in your own words, and also to talk honestly with a pastor or mature believer who knows you. They can pray with you about preparing for marriage and about your work, and help you think through what faithfulness looks like right now with your schedule and coworkers.

Father, we lift our brother to You and thank You that he is seeking You. Provide for his work, give him wisdom for his schedule, help him to show Your love at work and to receive grace there. Lead him as he prays for a future wife, shape him and guide his steps according to Your perfect will. Keep him close to You. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer for blessing, for a wife to be a true helper, and for favor in your daily work has been heard, and we join you in bringing it before the throne of grace.

Know first that the greatest blessing is not to be measured by being loved the most or blessed the most among men, but by being found in Christ. To as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, and there is a Heaven lying asleep inside those words, Abba, Father. This same Jesus has risen from the dead and lives to plead for His people, and in that plea lies our confidence. Whether He gives or withholds, our resolve must be that of Job, Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him, for underneath us, even when every earthly prop is cut away, are the everlasting arms.

Concerning a wife, your desire is good when it is ordered according to the Lord. It is not a less sacred thing to be the married wife than to be consecrated in any other holy calling. Marriage as God ordained it is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, wherein the two become one, and its very crown is mutual delight and complacency, a holy picture of the marriage of the Lamb to His Church. There is a wife at home dear to a man's soul and for her he fights the battle of life bravely. Pray then not merely for the best wife in your own eyes, but for a godly wife, a loving and faithful helper who will walk with you in the fear of the Lord, and who with you will keep covenant before God until death shall part you. If you are seeking a great favor from God, pray whether you get it or not, right on. If you know your petition to be according to God's will and promise, plead the blood of Jesus about it, and if you do not get an answer at once, let your soul wait upon the Lord, for He comes most heartily to display His favor toward the objects of His choice.

Concerning your work and your desire to be loved at work and to have the best schedule, we would counsel you to seek first the favor of God rather than the praise of men. The Scripture does not teach us to pray that all men should love us most, for that savors of pride, but that we should be diligent, patient, and loving toward all, doing all as unto the Lord. A good schedule is not that which merely pleases self, but that which enables you to provide honestly, to serve faithfully, and to keep the Lord's Day and your duties to your household with a clear conscience. Seek to be faithful in little, to be humble and to love your fellow workers, and leave your reputation in the hands of Him who sees in secret.

Let us pray together.

Heavenly Father, we thank You that salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, and that through His blood we may come boldly to Your throne. We ask that You would bless this man indeed, not according to his own thought of most, but according to Your rich mercy in Christ. If it be Your will, provide for him a godly wife, a daughter of Yours who will be a true helper, that together they may enter into the sacred covenant of marriage as one man and one woman for life, to Your glory. Grant him grace to wait upon You and to trust Your timing. Bless also the work of his hands, give him diligence and integrity, and order his schedule that he may labor faithfully, provide for those You may entrust to him, and have heart and time to seek Your kingdom first. Keep him from seeking the praise of men, and make him a blessing to those among whom he labors, that they may see Christ in him. Underneath him be the everlasting arms, in trial and in joy.
