Jackie Heckman

I got a call this morning from my Mom at the hospital. According to the doctors Jackie is suffering from blood loss.

Her body is in shock and they have every single type of medication keeping her going. They have a procedure planned

to look in her stomach to try and find where she is bleeding from and stop it. This procedure may cause her heart to stop. The

doctor asked my Mom if she wanted him to resuscitate her if this happens. She said yes.

What a friend we have in Jesus,

all our sins and griefs to bear!

What a privilege to carry

everything to God in prayer!

O what peace we often forfeit,

O what needless pain we bear,

all because we do not carry

You know Jackie Heckman so much better than I do. You know her sickness and the burden she carries. You also know her heart. Lord, I ask you to be with Jackie now as you work in her life. Lord, I pray for Jackie just as your Word tells me to pray, for healing. I believe you hear these earnest prayers from our hearts and that it is powerful because of Your promise. We have faith in you, Lord, to heal Jackie, but we also trust in the plan You have for her life. Lord, we don't always understand Your ways. We don't know why Jackie has to suffer, but we trust You. We ask that You look with mercy and grace towards her. Nourish her spirit and soul in this time of suffering and comfort her with Your presence. Let Jackie know You are there with her through this difficulty. Give her strength. And may You, through this difficulty, be glorified in her life and also in all of ours. In Jesus’ name we pray. AMEN.
