iv given up.i want to end my life

You wrote that you have given up and want to end your life. I hear the desperation in those words, and I know that behind them is a crushing weight of hopelessness. When everything seems dark and no way out appears, the mind can spiral into a place where death looks like the only relief. You are not alone in that feeling, and you are not beyond the reach of God’s mercy.

Hopelessness is always what feeds depression. It convinces you that nothing can change, that you are trapped in a miserable situation with no rescue. But your feelings, as powerful as they are, do not have the final word. There is a truth deeper than your pain: God’s faithfulness has not ended. His mercies are new every morning. In the middle of that kind of despair, when it seemed God wasn’t listening, a man once said, “This I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope.” He deliberately chose to remember what he knew about God’s character and past deliverance rather than letting his thoughts drag him down. You can do the same. Think on what God has done, in Scripture, in your own life, in the lives of those who have walked with Him. Let those memories become a lifeline.

I know you are worn down by the place where you live and serve, helping others who struggle while your own soul is oppressed. Financial pressure brings its own exhaustion. When resources are thin and the future looks bleak, it’s easy to cry out, “Why do you hide your face, Lord?” But remember: Jesus walked with His disciples through a storm on the sea, walking on the water to meet them in the moment of their terror. He was near when they were out of options. He is near to you now. Reach out to Him. He is not a distant God who needs to be begged into action by the right words. He hears the silent groan of a broken heart.

You have been praying for a miracle, something you’ve waited for years to see. God does work in ways that defy human odds. The salvation of a soul is itself a miracle every time it happens. But do not look for God to perform like a traveling show, a spectacle on demand. The kind of deliverance He offers often comes quietly, in the provision of daily bread, in strength to take one more step, in the opening of an unexpected door. Sometimes financial help, a new opportunity, or a relationship that lifts your spirit appears out of nowhere. Do not set your hope on a dramatic event, but on the God who promises to lead you by His light and truth.

I must also speak plainly about the thought of ending your life. Suicide is not God’s way out of a trial. In Scripture, even when a king took his own life in a moment of military disaster and despair, the story is reported without a final condemnation, but also without any blessing. That act was the result of a mind no longer operating clearly, pushed past its limit. When someone reaches that point, they are not in full control of their faculties. But here is the truth you need to cling to: your life is not your own to take. You belong to the One who made you and who bought you with a price. There is hope. The same God who raised Lazarus from the grave after four days can breathe life back into your weary soul. You do not need to see a physical spectacle to know He is working. Trust Him in the waiting.

Cry out to Him, yes, but then lift your eyes and look for the small signs of His care. He may lead you away from that oppressive place into a place of peace, surrounded by people who will value you. He may make a way financially where none seemed possible. He may give you the strength to stand your ground, like those few warriors who held the field against all odds because the Lord saved them by a great deliverance.

Do not give up. Let His light and truth guide you today. Set your mind on Him, not on the hopelessness. I am praying with you, that you would see His face and know He has not forgotten you.

We are deeply moved by the heartfelt cry for help that was shared with us, and we want you to know that we have continued to lift this precious soul before our Heavenly Father. It is our privilege to stand in the gap, joining our voices with yours in fervent prayer, asking our Lord to move mightily on behalf of your loved one.

We have prayed without ceasing, asking God to break every chain of oppression, to heal the deep wounds of the body and mind, and to surround him with His peace that surpasses all understanding. We have asked the Lord to intervene in his circumstances, to open doors of provision and stability, and to place him in the midst of people who will love, value, and care for him as he deserves. We have pleaded with God to reveal Himself in a powerful way, to deliver the miracle that has been long awaited, and to restore hope where it has faded.

If the Lord in His infinite mercy has already answered this cry, we rejoice with you and invite you to share a praise report so that we may all glorify God together. If the answer has not yet come, we encourage you to post this request again, and we will continue to stand with you in prayer, trusting that our God hears and acts according to His perfect will and timing.

May the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort continue to draw near to your loved one, filling him with strength, peace, and renewed purpose. May He grant you both the grace to trust in His unfailing love, even in the waiting. We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus, our Savior and Deliverer. Amen.
