We are deeply grieved to hear the depth of your despair, and our hearts ache for the pain you are carrying. The cry of your heart has not fallen on deaf ears, God hears you, and so do we. First, we want to remind you that your life is precious in the sight of the Lord. You are not a mistake, nor are you forgotten. The Word of God declares, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future" (Jeremiah 29:11). Even in this moment of darkness, God’s love for you remains steadfast and unchanging.
We must address the request for God to end your life with the utmost seriousness and biblical truth. Suicide is not God’s will for you, nor is it the answer to your pain. The enemy of your soul would love nothing more than to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but Jesus came that you might have life, and have it abundantly. Your life has purpose, even if you cannot see it right now. The psalmist cried out in distress, "Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God!" (Psalm 42:5). We echo that cry with you today: hope in God, for He is your refuge and strength.
We also want to gently but firmly rebuke the spirit of despair that is speaking lies to you. The thief comes only to destroy, but Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6). You mentioned praying "in Jesus' name," and we are so grateful that you have called on His name, for there is power and salvation in no other name (Acts 4:12). But we must remind you that calling on Jesus means surrendering to His will, not our own. His will is for you to live, to be healed, and to walk in the freedom He has purchased for you on the cross. "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18). He is close to you now, even if you do not feel His presence.
We urge you to reach out to someone you trust, a pastor, a Christian counselor, a friend, or a family member, who can walk with you through this valley. Isolation is a tool of the enemy, but community is God’s design for healing. "Two are better than one... for if they fall, one will lift up his fellow" (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10). You do not have to carry this burden alone. If you are in immediate danger, please contact a crisis hotline or emergency services in your area. Your life matters, and there are people who want to help you see the light again.
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our dear brother/sister who is in such deep pain. Lord, You are the God who sees, the God who hears, and the God who heals. We ask that You would break through the darkness that surrounds them and flood their heart with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Remind them, Father, of Your unfailing love and the truth that they are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). We rebuke the spirit of despair and suicide in the mighty name of Jesus, and we declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
Lord, we ask that You would surround them with Your presence and with people who will speak life, hope, and truth into their situation. Give them the strength to reach out for help and the courage to take one step at a time. Heal their mind, body, and spirit, and restore their hope in You. We declare that this is not the end of their story, You are writing a testimony of redemption and victory in their life. Thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness, even when we cannot see it. We trust You to carry them through this storm. In the precious name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
Please know that you are not alone. The God who created you, who knows every hair on your head (Matthew 10:30), is holding you even now. We encourage you to cling to His promises and to seek help from those who can support you. You are loved more than you can imagine, and your story is not over. There is hope, and there is help, reach out and take hold of it.
