Dear stander, you have been chosen by Our Heavenly Father according to His will and purpose for your life. Your prodigal spouse is an integral part of God’s will for your life and family. You are on assignment to stand in the gap for your loved ones and to pray God’s will in and over their lives. Once I understood that my only chance of marriage restoration was to be totally in God’s will, I began to enjoy the privilege of standing for the salvation of my entire family. As for me and my house, we shall serve the Lord. (Joshua 24:15)
When we experience the death of our covenant marriage, it seems natural to make burial plans. This, to the world, is part of the process of dealing with the loss. But God told me I am not of the world; He told me not to bury my marriage, not to call the undertaker, but to look to the “Overtaker,†to submit my will to His will. Jesus has power over death!
My understanding of a burial is to place that which has died in the ground, to return back to dust. The Lord showed me that if no burial has taken place then resurrection will take place. Never give up on your marriage. He reminded me that He was laid in a tomb as opposed to being buried in the ground. That was a word of revelation to me, and another assurance of the restoration of my marriage. Don't ever stop standing for your prodigal. Don't bury your marriage; trust and believe God. Our marriages are lying in a tomb, awaiting God’s restoring, resurrection power! He promised to restore and He will do it. He is the power and authority over our lives. We are not under any circumstances that have attacked our marriages. We are over and above every situation and circumstance that comes against us, because we believe God’s promises.
Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?†John 11:40
For weeks leading up to and during the Easter Season, the Lord has given me such peace and assurance I cannot describe in words! Each day I expect great things to happen in my life and as sure as His Word, God does not disappoint me. He provides for me and my family, He shelters us and showers us richly with His blessings! He encourages me with His Word and reminds me that He will defend my marriage with His precious Blood. In the natural there is no reason for me to rejoice and sing praises to my God. But regardless, I desire to give Him thanks every opportunity I get. I am compelled to praise the only living God who sent His Son to die for my sins. I use the restorative power of the Blood of our Lord Jesus to cover every prayer point! The relationship I have with the Lord has matured to the point that it has taken away fear and anxiety. I now rest in His arms knowing it is well.
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28
Our marriages are a gift from God, a covenant which cannot be broken. Don't let your natural eyes look at your circumstances. Open your spiritual eyes and see what the Lord has done, is doing and will do for you and your family. Your marriage will be restored if you don't give up; regardless of how long it will take, it will happen. Your prayers are changing your family’s destiny. Our prodigals are hearing from God who is giving them a new heart.
Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. Psalm 51:10-12
My stand for marriage restoration has brought me peace and blessed assurance that everything concerning me and my familyis well because I believe God’s promises. My response to every situation and circumstance that challenges me is, it is well. When Charlyne tells us to read our Bibles every day and study the promises He gives us, this is great instruction as the answer to peace and assurance is in God’s Word.
Then the LORD replied: "Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it. For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.†Habakkuk2:2-3
The Lord has promised to be with us during this season of standing for the restoration of our marriages. We must trust Him to reveal His qualities in us. He is an omnipresent God, also working on our prodigals’ hearts and minds.
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.†Joshua 1:9
I love to read the testimonies and daily devotions as they are encouraging my spirit. I believe that the hearts and minds of our dear prodigals have been touched by God’s hand during the Easter season and now. The seed has been planted and so the Lord will water it.
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us. Ephesians 3:20
