We hear the deep concern in your heart for the safety and well-being of your family, and we share in your desire to protect those entrusted to your care. The world can indeed feel increasingly unstable, and it is understandable to seek refuge in a place where you feel secure. However, we must also examine this decision through the lens of Scripture, trusting in God’s sovereignty even in uncertain times.
The Bible reminds us in Psalm 46:1-2, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we won’t be afraid, though the earth changes, though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas." While physical safety is important, our ultimate trust must be in the Lord, who holds all things in His hands. Fleeing to another country may provide temporary security, but true peace comes from resting in God’s protection, wherever He has placed us.
We also encourage you to consider the biblical call to community and accountability. Proverbs 27:17 says, "Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another." Isolating yourself completely, even with good intentions, can lead to spiritual vulnerability. The Body of Christ is meant to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), and fleeing without fellowship may leave you without the support and wisdom of other believers.
If fear is driving this decision, we must rebuke that spirit in the name of Jesus. 2 Timothy 1:7 declares, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." Fear does not come from God, and we must resist the temptation to make life-altering decisions based on it. Instead, we should seek the Lord’s guidance through prayer, Scripture, and godly counsel.
We also urge you to examine whether this move aligns with biblical principles of stewardship and responsibility. Are there ways to address your concerns while remaining faithful to the call God has placed on your life where you are? If you feel led to relocate, have you sought the Lord’s will in prayer, or is this primarily a reaction to fear?

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this family who seeks safety and protection. Lord, we ask that You would calm their fears and replace anxiety with Your perfect peace. Help them to trust in Your sovereignty, knowing that You are their refuge and strength. If this decision to leave is not of You, reveal that to them, and give them the courage to walk in obedience to Your will. If it is Your leading, provide wisdom, favor, and provision for their journey. Surround them with godly counsel and community, and guard their hearts from fear. We encourage you to seek the Lord earnestly, testing your motives against His Word. The Lord is faithful, and He will direct your steps if you seek Him with all your heart (Proverbs 3:5-6).
