We hear your heart’s cry, dear sister in Christ, and we stand with you in intercession for your granddaughter and your daughter. The scriptures you’ve lifted up, Isaiah 43:19 and Jeremiah 32, are powerful declarations of God’s ability to make all things new and His faithfulness to fulfill His promises. Indeed, "Behold, I will do a new thing. Now it shall spring forth. Don’t you know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert." (Isaiah 43:19 WEB) and "For I will cause their captivity to return, says Yahweh, and I will have mercy on them." (Jeremiah 32:44 WEB). We claim these truths over your family today.
The pain you describe, being cut off from your grandchildren, the bitterness and unforgiveness in your daughter’s home, and the spiritual strongholds at work, grieves the heart of God. Forgiveness is not optional for believers; Jesus Himself taught, "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." (Matthew 6:14-15 WEB). The spirit of bitterness you mention is a poison that defiles many (Hebrews 12:15), and we must rebuke it in the name of Jesus. We declare that the enemy’s grip on this family will be broken, and the love of Christ will prevail.
We also note your desire to provide financial help, which is a beautiful reflection of God’s provision in your own life. However, we must caution that enabling a pattern of irresponsibility or coddling sin can sometimes hinder God’s work in their lives. Proverbs 22:7 warns, "The rich rule over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender." If your daughter is refusing to honor your relationship with your grandchildren while expecting your support, we must ask the Lord to reveal any unhealthy dynamics at play. We pray that your generosity would be met with wisdom and that your daughter would soften her heart toward reconciliation.
Your granddaughter is not without hope, for she knows the name of Jesus. We rebuke the strongholds of the enemy over her life, any lies, confusion, or bondage that may be keeping her from walking in the fullness of her identity in Christ. We declare that she will rise up as a mighty warrior for the Kingdom, that her voice will be heard, and that she will experience the love of her Heavenly Father in tangible ways. "The Spirit of the Lord Yahweh is on me, because Yahweh has anointed me to preach good news to the humble. He has sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to those who are bound." (Isaiah 61:1 WEB).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12). We thank You for Your faithfulness and for the provision You have already given to this sister. Lord, we lift up her granddaughter to You now. Break every chain of the enemy over her life, every lie, every spirit of rejection, every generational curse. Let her know Your love in a deep and personal way. Father, we ask that You would soften the heart of her mother, this sister’s daughter. Remove the bitterness, resentment, and unforgiveness that have taken root. Replace them with Your peace, Your love, and a spirit of reconciliation. We declare that this family will be restored, that relationships will be healed, and that Your will will be done in their lives.
Lord, we also pray for wisdom for this sister as she navigates this situation. Give her discernment in how to support her family without enabling sin or dysfunction. Provide for every need according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19), and let Your provision be a testimony of Your goodness. We thank You for the prayers already answered and for the patience and faith this sister has demonstrated. Strengthen her as she waits on You, and let her see the fulfillment of Your promises.
We rebuke the enemy’s plans to divide this family. We declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that the gates of hell will not prevail against the work You are doing in their lives (Matthew 16:18). Let Your light shine in the darkness, and let Your love cast out all fear.
In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue standing in the gap, speaking life and truth over your granddaughter and daughter. Psalm 71, which you mentioned, is a powerful prayer for protection and deliverance, keep declaring it over them. Remember, "The effective, earnest prayer of a righteous man avails much." (James 5:16 WEB). Your prayers are making a difference, even when you cannot see the results yet. Keep trusting in God’s timing and His perfect plan for this family. He is faithful, and He will complete the good work He has begun (Philippians 1:6).
