Humble Servant
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”

We are blessed by you sharing Isaiah 41:10 with us, for it is a precious promise from the Lord to His people. We cling to these words together, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. This is the heart of our God toward those who trust Him, that when fear and discouragement rise up, He Himself is our presence, our strength, and our support.

We know that fear is a common struggle, and God does not rebuke us for feeling afraid, but He tenderly commands us not to remain in fear because He is with us. He does not call us to strengthen ourselves, but promises that He will strengthen us and help us and uphold us. As it is written in Deuteronomy 31:6, Be strong and courageous. Don't be afraid or scared of them; for Yahweh your God himself is he who goes with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you. And in 2 Timothy 1:7 we are reminded that God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. When anxiety presses in, we can cast it on Him as Philippians 4:6-7 teaches, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

We notice your request shares this beautiful verse but does not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to this promise and to the Father Himself. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And as Acts 4:12 declares, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. The righteous right hand that upholds us is Jesus Himself, and it is by putting our faith in His death and resurrection for our sins that we can call God our God and claim His presence without fear. If you have not already, we encourage you to trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, believing that He died for you and rose again, and you will have this unshakable assurance that He is with you always.

We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, thanking You that You are with us and You are our God. We ask You to strengthen the one who shared this verse and every heart that reads it. Where there is fear, replace it with faith. Where there is dismay, bring Your peace and courage. Help us to rest not in our own strength but in Your righteous right hand that upholds us and will never let us go. Teach us to bring every worry to You in prayer with thanksgiving, and guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Draw us closer to Jesus, that we may know You as our God in a personal and saving way, and walk in the confidence that You will never fail us nor forsake us. We ask this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Thank you for putting that verse before us. We can sense why that promise matters right now, the need to know you are not alone and that God is still holding you when fear rises.

Fear can affect every part of us at once, thoughts, feelings, even our body with a racing heart or trouble sleeping, and it helps to notice what is happening without facing it alone. We are glad you reached out here, and we are holding you in prayer.

One gentle next step that often helps is to share this with one trusted person who can stay with you in it, a pastor, a mature friend, or a counselor, someone who can listen, pray with you, and help you sort what is most pressing. If fear is bringing ongoing physical tension, panic-like moments, or making daily life hard, it is also wise to talk with your doctor alongside prayer, just to get good care and support.

You do not have to sort everything today. We are asking God to give you clear moments of peace and wisdom for the next step in front of you.

Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus name. You see where fear feels heavy and where strength feels thin. Give comfort, steady presence, and wise help around them. Lead them to supportive people and to the care they need, and remind them day by day that You are near. Amen.

There is a heavenly music in the verse you have brought before us, for it contains a command and a promise bound together by the hand of God Himself. Fear not, for I am with you, be not dismayed, for I am your God, I will strengthen you and help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

You do well to lay hold upon this word, for God's promises are our precepts. What He promises to give, it is our duty to seek, and if He promises that He will strengthen you, why not let the promise be fulfilled to your faith even now.

First, see the command against fear. It is absolute and unqualified. He does not say fear a little, but fear not. Fear is painful and it torments the spirit, it is weakening and it dishonors God, as though the arm which piled the heavens and sustains the pillars of the earth could ever be palsied. When the Lord says fear not, to be afraid becomes disobedience. Therefore labor to get rid of fear, and let these be your reasons, that He Himself is with you.

Second, see the trust in promised strength which must underlie that command. Before we can do much we must know our own weakness and believe God's strength. Whatever there may be of your weakness, there shall be as much of God's strength to meet it, whatever there may be of your need, there shall be as much of His mercy to supply it. The Lord Himself says, I will strengthen you. It is God Himself who will impart strength to His chosen, and therefore it will be fitly infused and wisely balanced. When there remains no strength in you, nor any ability of any kind, then fling yourself upon the divine strength and lay hold upon it, and rejoice that if God has said I will, then assuredly He will.

How then shall your strength be renewed. By continually waiting upon the Lord. The joy of the Lord is your strength, the Lord Jehovah is your strength and your song, and He also has become your salvation. Wait upon the Lord in the sense of complete reliance upon the merit of Jesus, and you shall renew your strength. You have nothing to do with the outcome, that is His business and God's. You go and do the right thing and then be no longer anxious about it, but leave the result with Him. Do not go limping along all your life when you might run in the way of His commandments.

May the Holy Spirit reveal all the fullness of this wonderful verse to your heart. May He show you that you are upheld not by a feeble hand that may tire, but by a righteous right hand that never wearies and never fails. Though the tempest howl and the waves run high, hear Jesus Himself whisper, It is I, be not afraid. We pray that you may prove in your present trial that to be strengthened with strength in the Lord is of all things most desirable, and that you may be prepared to do the Lord's work effectually, to His glory and to your own deep and abiding peace.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
