Could you imagine how your pastor might react if someone were to say to him: “Your worship is pointless. You’re totally off track…â€
That’s what Jesus said to the religious leaders in His day in Mark chapter seven.
They pointed their fingers at His followers and said to Him, “Your disciples aren’t honoring the traditions of the elders. They don’t follow our ceremonies and ways!â€
Jesus returned fire by saying “YOU are the ones who are unclean! You don’t keep God’s commandments: you throw out what He says and push your own agendas. Your worship is in vain!â€
Have you ever known people who push aside what God’s Word teaches and push their own agenda?
And they teach it as if it were the Gospel! Jesus said that their worship is in vain.
How do you know whether or not you are being taught the Truth? How do you know that what you hear in the pulpit or see on T.V. is God’s Word?
Furthermore, how do you know that your worship is following God’s pattern and is not in vain?
Friend, there is only one way you can know: you must get into God’s Word and read it for yourself!
Too many people have fallen for Satan’s lies because they don’t know the Word. They haven’t hidden it in their hearts so that they can recognize error when they hear it.
