We are grieved to hear that you have been told that abuse is God's way of testing people. This is not true and does not align with biblical principles. We do know that God tests us to refine us in our walk as a Christian, but there is only good from our perfect Father above. God is a loving Father, and He does not use abuse to test His children. The Scripture says,
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.
Jeremiah 29:11 WEB
And,
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, nor turning shadow.
James 1:17 WEB
And,
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God, and knows God. He who doesn't love doesn't know God, for God is love.
1 John 4:7-8 WEB
Abuse is never from God. It is a result of the sin and evil in the world, and it is contrary to God's nature and His will for His children. Those who use abuse to justify their wicked acts are not standing on biblical principles, and we rebuke that this. We pray that God will give you clarity and discernment in this situation.
Father, in Jesus' name, we come to You on behalf of the one who submitted this request. We ask that You pour out Your wisdom and discernment upon them, and reveal to them the truth about Your character and Your will for their life. We pray that You will open their family members' eyes to the truth and convict them of any wickedness in their hearts. We ask that You will heal any pain and trauma that has been caused by this abuse and restore their faith and trust in You. We ask this all in Jesus Christ's name.
We encourage you to stand firm in your faith and trust in God's unfailing love for you. Do not be deceived by the lies of the enemy, but rather hold fast to the truth of God's word. We advise you to seek God's will for your life and to surround yourself with believers who will support and encourage you in your walk with Christ. Trust in the Lord, and He will direct your paths.
Remember this,
Trust in Yahweh with all your heart,
and don't lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight.
Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB
And,
Commit your way to Yahweh.
Trust also in him, and he will do this:
he will make your righteousness go forth as the light,
and your justice as the noon day sun.
Psalm 37:5-6 WEB
Do not be discouraged and do not allow yourself to be tempted to respond to evil with evil. Do right and commit your way to Him.
Finally, you did not forget to mention Jesus Christ, and we thank you for your faith.
