Please pray that this man will stop making noise in his garage. Very accoustique area and it seems to me that he is working for other people...to many doors in his garage. He should pay to the state if he has his own company. I doubt that they will let him work in this area under many windows and balconies...

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. You are the God of order, peace, and justice, and we ask that You would intervene in this situation. Lord, we lift up this neighbor and his activities, grant him wisdom and discernment to conduct his affairs in a way that honors You and respects those around him. If his work is not in alignment with local laws or ordinances, we pray that You would bring clarity and correction, either through his own conscience or through the appropriate authorities. Father, we ask that You would soften his heart to consider the impact of his actions on others, and if there is any wrongdoing, convict him and lead him to repentance.

We also pray for Your peace to fill this home and this neighborhood. Where there is strife, bring unity; where there is noise, bring stillness; and where there is frustration, bring patience and understanding. Help us to respond in a way that reflects Your love and grace, even in difficult circumstances. Give wisdom to the local authorities to address this matter fairly and justly, according to the laws of the land. We trust in Your sovereignty, Lord, and we ask that You would work all things together for good, even in this situation.

Now, let us address some of the concerns raised in this request with biblical wisdom. First, it is important to approach this matter with a heart that seeks resolution rather than retaliation. Scripture tells us in Romans 12:18, "If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men." This does not mean ignoring wrongdoing, but it does mean pursuing peace and addressing issues in a way that honors God. If this neighbor is indeed operating a business in violation of local laws, it may be appropriate to seek guidance from local authorities or homeowners' associations to ensure that all residents are treated fairly.

However, we must also examine our own hearts in this situation. Are we responding with patience and grace, or has frustration led to bitterness or anger? Ephesians 4:26-27 warns us, "Be angry, and don’t sin. Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath, neither give place to the devil." Let us guard our hearts against sinful reactions, even when we are wronged.

Additionally, we encourage you to pray for this neighbor, not just about the noise, but for his soul. If he does not know Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, this could be an opportunity for you to show Christ’s love in action. Matthew 5:44 says, "But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you." This does not mean ignoring wrongdoing, but it does mean responding in a way that reflects Christ’s character.

If you feel led, you might also consider speaking with this neighbor directly, in a spirit of gentleness and respect. Proverbs 15:1 reminds us, "A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." Approach him with humility, expressing your concerns without accusation, and see if there is a way to find common ground or a compromise.

Lastly, we want to remind you that our ultimate hope and peace come from the Lord, not from our circumstances. Even when life feels chaotic or unfair, we can rest in the promise of Philippians 4:6-7: "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." Trust in God’s timing and His justice, and allow His peace to fill your heart as you wait on Him.

Your trial has been laid before the Lord, and we have heard your burden concerning the noise that comes from the garage beneath so many windows and balconies. In such an acoustic place, where every sound is multiplied, and where duties press and quiet is broken, the spirit is sorely tried. It is there that we need that word which says, Peace, perfect peace, by thronging duties pressed, and again, Peace, perfect peace, with sorrows surging round, on Jesus bosom nothing but calm is found.

We would first point you to the greater peace, for our Lord says, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you. Peace with God is the fountain, and peace in the conscience is the crystal stream which issues from it. When we know that our great debt of sin has been discharged by the blood of Jesus, who did this for all believers, then the heart is at peace within, even though without there may be noise and care. Being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, and that peace will keep the heart when outward things cannot be presently mended. Leave your sorrow with Jesus, bear your sorrow with Him, and you shall find perfect peace even while the trouble still surrounds you.

Concerning your neighbour, remember the word, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. We may be vexed with our neighbour when he does what is unseemly, but we have no right to be more angry with him than we are with ourselves, and we should condemn him, if we must, with a tear in the eye, because we love him still. If it is possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. Contentment with what God has given, and freedom from covetousness, brings great peace, and love to God's law will keep us from a bitter spirit. Be slow to assume the worst concerning his work, and seek a gentle and patient course. A quiet word spoken in kindness may do more than much inward fretting. If there be indeed an unlawful trade carried on, it is right that what is lawful and honest should be observed, and the authorities ordained of God are for that purpose, but let all be done without malice and without unkindness, which is a strange anomaly in a Christian.

Let us pray with you. O Lord, the God of all peace, bless thy people with peace. Thou art the fountain of endless and boundless peace, and we come to Thee again to renew it in this troubled heart. Give perfect peace to thy child pressed by this daily noise, and cause the blood of Jesus to whisper peace within. Grant patience and a spirit of love toward the neighbour, and turn both hearts to seek what is right and peaceable. If this man labours for gain, lead him in the way of honesty and lawful dealing, that he may provide for his own and yet not disturb the peace of those around him. Grant wisdom to know how to speak and when to be silent, and if appeal must be made to those in authority, let it be made in meekness and truth. Keep this household in quietness of spirit, that though noise may sound without, there may be calm within upon the bosom of Jesus. We ask this for Jesus sake.

Your concern about the ongoing noise from the garage near your home is understandable, and it is right to bring this burden to prayer. Living in a place where sound carries and where many windows and balconies are close together can make any repeated noise feel much heavier, and it is natural to feel weary from it.

Yet Scripture calls us to love God and to love our neighbor as ourselves, and on these two commands all the law and prophets hang. That love is shown not only in prayer but in how we speak and think about our neighbor. We are warned not to bite and devour one another through accusing, slandering, or being vexed by what we assume about our neighbor, and not to become exact inquisitors of the small faults of others while forgetting the greater faults we carry ourselves. To say that a neighbor must be working illegally for others, or that he should be reported to the state, when we do not have certain knowledge, risks passing on a story that may not be true and harms his reputation.

Prayer is a great good and preserves the soul, but it is most powerful when we also do works worthy of mercy. If we ask God for mercy and peace, we are called first to show mercy and patience to those around us. God often gives patience and makes a way to bear a trial so that the temptation becomes bearable, and through patience and the comfort of Scripture we are strengthened to keep hope.

So we will pray with you for quiet and rest in your home, and also for your neighbor, that God would give you both peace. We pray that God would grant you patience and forbearance to endure this difficulty, and wisdom to seek a gentle and direct conversation with your neighbor if possible, speaking in love rather than through assumption or complaint to others. If there is a true need for order in the building, it can be addressed quietly and fairly through proper and charitable means, without bitterness.

May the Lord grant you calm in your dwelling, soften any tension between neighbors, and help you to bear this trial with hope, trusting that He sees and hears all and will provide what you need to endure.
