Only God fully knows the heart and intentions of every person, and His truth endures when human words fail. Jesus said He is the way, the truth and the life, and His words will not pass away. The truth is not a temporary opinion but something that dwells and remains forever. That is why we can ask Him to bring what is hidden into the light in His perfect time and way. You quoted Psalm 34 well, that many are the afflictions of the righteous but the Lord delivers him out of them all, and that He watches over His own. The Lord who keeps Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps, and He keeps those who trust in Him. When false witnesses rise and breathe out cruelty, as David described when he was pursued and slandered, God sees and He is the true judge.
Fear is a natural response to threats and accusations, but remembering the Lord is the remedy for fear. Fear and faith cannot occupy the same place. When you feel harassed or anxious, turn your thoughts again to His character. All His paths are mercy and truth toward those who keep His covenant and walk in His ways. To walk in truth is more than agreeing that truth exists, it is obeying it and living in it day by day. There is great peace in knowing you are walking in truth before God, even when others misrepresent you.
Your desire for the truth to be known and for responsibility to be taken is right. God is both just and merciful. At first glance justice and mercy seem opposed, because justice requires a penalty and mercy releases the guilty. They meet together in Jesus Christ, who bore the penalty for sin so that forgiveness can be offered without violating justice. Because of that, we do not need to seek revenge or try to force exposure ourselves. We entrust judgment to God, who will reveal what needs to be revealed and who alone can turn a hard heart into a heart of flesh. The call of God to every person, including those who may have wronged you, is to repent, to turn from any idol or false way that has taken His place, and to seek Him with the whole heart. False hope keeps people from doing what they most need to do, which is to repent and turn to the Lord.
So we pray with you along these lines. We ask the Lord to continue to guard and keep you in safety and to give you wisdom for any practical steps you should take. If you still have concerns for your safety, it is wise to keep a clear record, to keep distance from that household, and to seek help from the proper authorities who can assess any technical or legal matters, while you continue to trust God with the outcome. We pray that the Spirit of Truth would make what is true plain in His time, that lies would not prevail, and that you would be protected from further accusation. We pray also for the residents of that house and for the former landlord and for the woman who confronted you, that God would touch their hearts, break through arrogance and hardness, grant repentance where repentance is needed, and lead them to a heart that hears His call and submits to Him. We pray that whatever hardness or anger is at work would be softened by His mercy, and that justice would be done in a way that leads to truth and, where possible, to reconciliation.
May the Lord give you grace, mercy and peace in truth and love, keep your heart from being consumed by suspicion, and help you to walk steadily in truth and obedience before Him. He knows your affliction, He has delivered you, and He is able to keep you still.
