I asked a lot of prayers because of a life-threatening electrical problem in my rented apartment. Thank God, I survived and moved out. But the story hasn't seemed to end there.
While I was living in the apartment, I noticed that someone might have entered it several times, as evidenced by the position of the lock and some other signs. After many months and much unclear communication, it seems possible that they intentionally tried to kill me. I don't know for sure. Only God knows what is in their hearts and what their intentions are, but it is written in Psalms 34:21–23: Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all. He keeps all his bones; not one of them is broken. Affliction will slay the wicked, and those who hate the righteous will be condemned. Last week, a woman I had never spoken to before came up to me angrily and shouted lies and accusations at me. She said that I had entered the house where she and the ex-landlord live. She heard this from someone else and tried to accuse me and destroy me. Thank God the Lord protected me again. Please pray for the residents of the house so that they can see the truth, because I never entered their apartment. However, it is highly likely that someone entered the apartment while I was living in that life-threatening flat. If this woman hired technicians to damage the heating system and disconnect consumers from the RCD, causing electric shocks during showers, then I pray that this is exposed. However this happened, God will show the truth. The landlord is avoiding me and is not willing to speak to me. NO REMORSE! Please pray that the Holy Spirit touches him so that he stops lying and takes responsibility!

These people have not apologised to me or compensated me after nearly three months of moving out. Please pray. May God break their hardness. May they have a heart of flesh. May they hear His call. May they submit to Him.

We have heard your cry and we join together with you before the Father in Jesus' name, thanking Him that He has preserved your life and brought you out of that dangerous apartment. We praise God that you survived the life threatening electrical problem and that He protected you again when you were confronted with angry accusations.

We understand the fear and distress you are carrying. To live with faulty electricity that caused shocks while showering, to suspect that someone entered your home, and then to be shouted at with lies by someone you had never even spoken to would leave anyone shaken and searching for answers. We do not know for certain what was intentional and what was negligence, and as you said, only God knows what is in their hearts and what their intentions were. We must be careful not to condemn in our hearts without clear evidence, while also asking God to bring all hidden things into the light, for there is nothing hidden that will not be revealed, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light Luke 8:17. Jesus Himself said, You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free John 8:32, and He is the way, the truth, and the life John 14:6. The Spirit of truth will guide us into all truth John 16:13, and we trust Him to do so here.

We take comfort with you in the scripture you shared, Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all. He keeps all his bones. Not one of them is broken Psalm 34:19-20. The angel of Yahweh encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them Psalm 34:7. He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. We will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust Psalm 91:1-2. When fear rises we remember, Fear not, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10, and we cast all our worries on Him, because He cares for us 1 Peter 5:7. We encourage you, Don’t be anxious for anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7.

We also gently encourage you to take wise and practical steps while you pray. If you have evidence that the heating system or the RCD safety device was tampered with, or that someone entered your apartment unlawfully, we urge you to document everything carefully and to seek counsel from trustworthy authorities or legal help in your area. God often works through rightful authorities to bring justice and protection, and it is wise to let them examine what can be examined. Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding Proverbs 3:5.

We pray for the landlord and for this woman and for all the residents of that house. We do not pray for vengeance, for it is written, Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19. Instead we pray as you asked, that God would break hardness and give a heart of flesh as He promised, I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh Ezekiel 36:26. May the Holy Spirit convict them if there has been lying, negligence, or wrongdoing, and lead them to take responsibility, to speak truthfully, and to make what is right. If compensation is owed, we pray God would move their consciences to act justly. If accusations against you are false, we pray the truth would be clearly seen by all, and that your name would be cleared.

We join you in praying for your own heart as well, that you would be kept from bitterness and be able to forgive even as you seek truth and safety, remembering Don’t be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good Romans 12:21.

We lift you up now together, Father in heaven, we thank You in the name of Jesus Christ that You have kept our dear one alive through electric shocks and danger, and through false accusation. You see all that has happened in that apartment, every wire, every lock, every conversation, every motive. We ask You to shine Your light into darkness and expose what needs to be exposed, and to protect from what is still hidden. Surround this child of Yours with Your angels and Your peace, calm fear, and guard sleep and daily life. Touch the heart of the landlord who is avoiding responsibility, convict him and draw him to repentance and truthfulness. Touch this woman who spoke lies in anger, soften her heart, open her eyes to see that she was misled, and prevent her from causing further harm. Give to all involved a heart of flesh that hears Your call and submits to You. Grant wisdom to know what practical steps to take, and provide godly counsel and protection through proper authorities if needed. Let justice be done in Your perfect way and in Your perfect time, and let mercy and truth meet. We ask for healing from the trauma of these months and for restoration of what was lost. We trust You to deliver the righteous out of all afflictions and we rest in Your refuge. In the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to dwell close to the Lord, to remain in prayer and in the Word, and to walk in forgiveness while trusting God to be your defender and to reveal the truth in His time.

Your trial has been brought before the Lord and heard with sorrow and with prayer. To have lived under a life threatening danger in your own dwelling, to have felt the shock of electricity where there should have been safety, and then to be met with accusation and angry words instead of confession and care, is a heavy affliction. We give thanks with you that the Lord preserved your life and brought you out, for many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.

There is a word that grows plentifully in God's garden and it is for you in this hour, Fear not. You are as a worm and no match for those who would oppress, yet the Lord says, Fear not, I will help you. The fear of man brings a snare and it weakens the heart and dishonors God, as if His arm which piled the heavens could be palsied. It is Jesus Himself who whispers to His servant fallen as dead at His feet, Fear not. To give way to dread is not required of you. You are commanded not to fear, because the Lord is with you and will strengthen you. Let that promise chase away fear as with a whip of many thongs.

We do not know the hearts of men, nor can we see in secret what hands have done to wires and locks and heating systems. Only God knows what is in their hearts and what their intentions were. He is a swift witness against false swearers and against those that oppress the hireling and turn aside the stranger from his right. What has been done in darkness He will bring to light in His own time and way. We will pray that the truth be made plain, that if wrong has been done it be exposed by lawful and orderly means, and that innocence where you have been falsely accused be clearly seen by all. We also urge you, while you pray, to walk in wisdom, to keep any evidence and reports you have from qualified technicians, and to seek the help of proper authorities if you remain in danger, for God ordains such means for the protection of life and for justice.

We will pray as you have asked, that hardness be broken. That the Holy Spirit would take away the heart of stone and give a heart of flesh, that lying would cease and responsibility be taken, and that those who have shown no remorse would hear His call and submit to Him. It is God's work alone to make jewels for Christ's crown, and the Spirit must go with the Word or it is wasted breath. We cannot change a heart, but God can. And we will pray that persecution, even in the form of slander and venomous spite, would drive you nearer to your God, where many prayers are offered that would never have been offered else, and where you learn to observe His wondrous works in yourself and for yourself.

Hear our prayer for you and for them.

O God, You have taught us from our youth and until this time we have declared Your wondrous works. We thank You that You kept this Your servant and did not allow affliction to slay, for You keep all the bones of Your people. Let Your perfect preservation be praised. We ask You to remove fear and to give trust in promised strength, that this troubled heart may rest in Your help. Be a swift witness to the truth. Let what is hidden be revealed according to Your justice and mercy, and let false accusation fall to the ground. Touch the landlord and the residents of that house, convict them of sin, stop the mouth that speaks lies, and grant repentance and a willingness to make restitution where wrong has been done. Soften hardness, grant a heart of flesh, and bring each soul to look to the blood of Jesus Christ Your dear Son which cleanses from all sin, for there is salvation in no other. Keep Your servant in peace, guard going out and coming in, and let Your Word be a lamp until all is made clear. In the name of Jesus Christ our only hope, Amen.

We have received your prayer request and we join with you in thanking God that He preserved your life through that dangerous electrical problem and brought you safely out of that apartment. We continue to pray for you now as you carry the distress and uncertainty that has followed.

God knows what is hidden in every heart and He sees what is done in secret. As you quoted, many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all, and those who hate the righteous will be condemned. We pray that you will know His protection and peace even while these accusations and fears weigh on you. Christ has overcome death, so we need not live as slaves to the fear of death, but can live with confidence that our lives are in His hands, whether in affliction or in safety.

We also hear your concern that harm may have been intended against you, and that you have been falsely accused by a woman who says you entered a house you never entered. Scripture warns us that many judgments are formed upon suspicion, and therefore every matter should be established at the mouth of two or three witnesses. An accusation should not be received or judged lightly without clear evidence that can be examined. This protects both the accused and the accuser from false judgment. We encourage you not to settle your heart on suspicion alone, and also not to accept false accusations against you without proper witness and truth. We pray that God, who brings hidden things to light, will make the truth known in a clear and orderly way, and that any wrongdoing, if it occurred with the electrical system, will be exposed through lawful and careful examination.

We will pray for the residents of that house, for the woman who confronted you, and for your former landlord. We pray that the Holy Spirit will soften every hard heart and give a heart of flesh in place of hardness, that lies would cease, that responsibility would be taken where it is due, and that all involved would hear God's call and submit to Him. We pray that He would restrain any evil intent and bring conviction where repentance is needed, and that He would also guard you from bitterness and the desire for revenge.

We pray also for practical wisdom for you. Do not seek out needless danger, but bear the trials that have come upon you with patience and trust in God. If there remains a question of safety or criminal wrongdoing, seek wise counsel and use the proper lawful means to have matters documented and examined, so that truth can be established peaceably and without personal retaliation. Continue to commit your cause to the Lord who judges righteously.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we thank You that You kept this person through great danger and delivered them from harm. You know all that happened in that apartment and all that has been said afterward. We ask You to reveal the truth and to let justice and honesty prevail. Protect Your child from all harm and from false accusation, and give peace to a troubled heart. Touch the landlord and the others involved, convict them of any falsehood or neglect, break their hardness, and lead them to speak the truth and to take responsibility. Give to all a heart of flesh that hears Your voice. Help Your child to walk in patience, long suffering and forgiveness, strengthened by Your power, and to live free from fear, trusting in Christ who has conquered death. Lead all toward repentance and reconciliation where possible, and let Your name be honored in how truth and mercy meet. In the name of Jesus Christ, our only Savior, we pray. Amen.

Thank you for sharing so openly what you have been through. It is a mercy from God that you survived that dangerous electrical condition in your apartment and were able to move out. It is understandable that the experience has left you shaken, especially with the lingering questions about whether someone entered your home, the false accusations made against you, and the silence and lack of remorse from those responsible.

Fear often grows when the heart forgets the nearness of the Lord. The psalmist David knew this kind of fear well. He wrote about walking through the valley of the shadow of death and yet fearing no evil because the Lord was with him. He also knew what it was to have false witnesses rise up breathing out cruelty and lies. When you are accused of something you did not do, and when you suspect harm was intended against you, it feels overwhelming. Remembering that God is with you, that He sees and knows all hearts, is the cure for that fear. If God is for you, no person can ultimately stand against you. Help from people alone is empty, but through God you can walk with courage, for He is the one who defends and who treads down the enemies of His people.

You are right to say that only God knows the intentions of the heart. People can imagine harmful plans, but they are not able to carry them out beyond what God permits. Scripture says that those who intend evil and devise mischief will not succeed beyond His sovereign hand, and that their evil fruit will not last. The Lord keeps His own. As you quoted from Psalm 34, many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. He has delivered you once, and He remains your defender. He also prepares a table before you even while enemies are present, showing that He can sustain and honor you in the very place of conflict. You do not need to force the truth into the light. God will reveal what needs to be revealed in His time and in His way.

It is natural to feel as David sometimes did, wanting God to break the power of those who do wrong and to give them what they deserve. Yet when we pray for ourselves we ask for mercy, not justice, because justice would condemn us all. We live only by mercy through faith in Jesus Christ, and that mercy can only be received individually, each person must answer for himself before God. Because we want mercy for ourselves, Jesus calls us to love our enemies and to pray for mercy for them as well. Your prayer that the Holy Spirit would touch the landlord and this woman, that their hardness would be broken and they would be given a heart of flesh, that they would stop lying and take responsibility, is the right prayer. It asks God to lead them to repentance, to turn from the idols of self protection and deceit that have taken over their hearts, and to seek forgiveness. That is far better than simply asking God to punish them. God is not waiting to strike people down. He is for those who trust Him, and He desires that even those who have done wrong would turn and be saved. In the end He will judge all people with perfect uprightness, and no wrong will be overlooked, but He also offers mercy now to all who will receive it through Christ alone.

Continue to rest in that mercy yourself and to extend it in prayer for them. Ask the Lord to guard your heart from being consumed by suspicion about whether someone was hired to harm you. Bring those fears to Him and leave them with Him. He is your strength, be not far from you, and He hastens to help you. He can deliver your soul from those who lie in wait and from every cruel word. Trust Him to be your defense.

May the Lord grant you quietness from the fear of evil as you listen to His wisdom and walk close to Him. May He keep you in safety and peace, make the truth clear as He wills, and work in the hearts of the landlord and the woman who accused you, bringing conviction, honesty, and repentance. May He also keep your own heart soft, free from bitterness, and full of trust in His goodness, believing that you will see His goodness in the land of the living.
