I asked a lot of prayers because of a life-threatening electrical problem in my rented apartment. Thank God, I survived and moved out. But the story hasn't seemed to end there.
While I was living in the apartment, I noticed that someone might have entered it several times, as evidenced by the position of the lock and some other signs. After many months and much unclear communication, it seems possible that they intentionally tried to kill me. I don't know for sure. Only God knows what is in their hearts and what their intentions are, but it is written in Psalms 34:21–23: Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all. He keeps all his bones; not one of them is broken. Affliction will slay the wicked, and those who hate the righteous will be condemned. Last week, a woman I had never spoken to before came up to me angrily and shouted lies and accusations at me. She said that I had entered the house where she and the ex-landlord live. She heard this from someone else and tried to accuse me and destroy me. Thank God the Lord protected me again. Please pray for the residents of the house so that they can see the truth, because I never entered their apartment. However, it is highly likely that someone entered the apartment while I was living in that life-threatening flat. If this woman hired technicians to damage the heating system and disconnect consumers from the RCD, causing electric shocks during showers, then I pray that this is exposed. However this happened, God will show the truth. The landlord is avoiding me and is not willing to speak to me. NO REMORSE! Please pray that the Holy Spirit touches him so that he stops lying and takes responsibility!

These people have not apologised to me or compensated me after nearly three months of moving out. Please pray. May God break their hardness. May they have a heart of flesh. May they hear His call. May they submit to Him.

We have read your request and we thank God with you that He preserved your life through that dangerous electrical problem and brought you safely out of that apartment. We praise Him that you are alive and we continue to seek Him with you for truth, protection, and justice.

You are right that only God knows what is in the hearts of people and what their intentions truly were. We cling to the promise you quoted that many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all. He protects all of his bones. Not one of them is broken. Evil shall kill the wicked. Those who hate the righteous shall be condemned Psalm 34:19-21. We also remember that when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth John 16:13 and that Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. It is through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that truth is revealed and we are kept safe.

We understand your distress about signs that someone may have entered your apartment while you lived there, and your fear that the heating system and the RCD protection may have been intentionally tampered with to cause electric shocks. We also understand how frightening it was to be shouted at and falsely accused by a woman you had never spoken to, who claimed you had entered their house when you had not. We hear your concern that this aggressive woman might have hired others to harm you, and we take your fear seriously while also urging wisdom and caution. We must not bear false witness against our neighbor Exodus 20:16, so we must be careful not to accuse anyone of attempted murder without clear evidence, even as we ask God to expose whatever is hidden. For there is nothing hidden that will not be revealed, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light Luke 8:17. God sees all that was done in secret and He will bring the truth into the light in His perfect time and way.

We also want to encourage you not to live in tormenting fear. For God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7. He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust Psalm 91:1-2. At the same time, faith does not mean ignoring practical wisdom. If you have reason to believe your life was endangered by intentional tampering with the electrical system, we urge you to keep all documentation, photos, messages, and records, and to seek godly counsel and to report what happened to the proper authorities who are appointed to protect and to seek justice Romans 13:4. If you feel unsafe now, please also seek support from trusted local believers, family, or a pastor, and take reasonable steps for your safety while continuing to trust the Lord as your protector.

We grieve with you that after nearly three months there has been no apology, no taking of responsibility, and no compensation, and that the landlord avoids you and seems to show no remorse. We pray that the Holy Spirit will convict and soften hard hearts. God promises I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh Ezekiel 36:26. We pray for that work in the landlord and in the residents of that house, that they would stop lying, take responsibility, and submit to the Lord.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, and we thank You that You delivered our dear one from a life threatening danger and that not one of their bones was broken by Your mercy. We ask You to be their refuge and fortress now, to surround them with Your peace and to guard them from all harm and from every scheme of the enemy. Let Your Spirit of truth guide into all truth and expose what is hidden. If there was intentional tampering with the electricity or any plan to harm, bring it into the light so that justice may be done and no one else is endangered. We pray for the woman who shouted false accusations and for the former landlord and all residents of that house, that You would open their eyes to see the truth, that they would know our friend never entered their home, and that all lies and false witness would be silenced. Touch the landlord's heart, Lord, break his hardness, give him a heart of flesh, convict him of any lying and evasion, and lead him to take responsibility and to make restitution where it is due. We pray that You would give our loved one Your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding Philippians 4:7, that fear would be replaced with power, love, and self control, and that they would learn to seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness Matthew 6:33 while trusting You for provision and vindication. Help them to love their enemies and pray for those who mistreat them Luke 6:27-28, not seeking revenge for themselves, for vengeance belongs to You Romans 12:19, but also give them wisdom to pursue what is lawful and right. We ask this all in the mighty and saving name of Jesus, amen.

We encourage you to continue to cast all your worries on Him, because He cares for you 1 Peter 5:7, to remain in prayer and in the Word, and to walk closely with a local body of believers who can support you, pray with you face to face, and help you discern next steps regarding any legal or official report. Do not be anxious, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God Philippians 4:6. The Lord is near to those who call on Him in truth, and He will be your defender and your peace as you continue to trust Him.

We have been carrying your story before the Lord and we are so thankful you are out of that apartment and safe now. Living for months with shocks in the shower and wondering if someone had been inside would leave anyone feeling on edge, and then to be confronted and accused by someone you had never even spoken to only adds to that strain.

It is understandable you still have many unanswered questions and that it hurts to have had no apology or taking of responsibility. Only God fully knows hearts and intentions, and we join you in asking Him to bring what is true into the light in His way and time, and to keep you guarded from further harm or harassment.

As you wait, it may help to keep a simple dated note of what happened and any further contact, and to lean on one or two trusted people nearby, perhaps a pastor or another wise counselor, who can help you think through any practical next steps if issues with the former landlord continue. Keeping a respectful distance rather than trying to sort it out alone with people who have been aggressive can also help protect your peace.

We hear too your prayer that hardness would be broken and hearts softened. Wanting those who hurt you to turn toward honesty is a good and costly desire. Forgiveness is often a slow process, first a decision to release revenge to God, with quieter emotions following later at their own pace, and it does not require restoring a relationship that was unsafe.

Father, in Jesus' name we lift our friend to You. Cover them with Your protection and steady their heart when fear rises. Give wisdom for each next step and work in the landlord and others involved to love truth and take responsibility where it is due. Bring healing and rest after this long strain. Amen.

Your burden has been laid before the Lord and before His people, and we have heard with sorrow the trial through which you have passed, the danger in that dwelling, the shocks and fear by night and day, and the distress which has followed you even after you were delivered from it. We thank God with you that your life was preserved, for many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.

There is a fear which belongs to man and which weakens the soul, and there is a fear of the Lord which is strong confidence and a place of refuge. You have been beset by the first, lest men should have conspired against you, lest harm should still be intended, lest accusations should destroy your name. We do not know the hearts of men, nor can we search them out, but God knows all that is hidden. Nothing is covered that shall not be revealed. He who keeps all the bones of His people will keep you still, and He who smote great kings for His mercy endureth forever is able to restrain the powers of earth and hell and make their efforts vain. Therefore fear not, thou worm Jacob, for saith the Lord, I will help thee. Let your fear be turned from man to God, for in the fear of the Lord is strong confidence and His children shall have a place of refuge, even the bosom of Christ to fly to.

We pray that the Spirit of Truth, who alone can give a heart of flesh for a heart of stone, would shine light upon all that has been hidden. If wrong has been done in that house, if any hand has dealt deceitfully or carelessly with that which endangered life, we ask the Lord to expose it, not that we may rejoice in judgment, but that truth may be known and righteousness may be done. We pray for the woman who has accused you, that her eyes may be opened to see truly, and that no lie may stand. We pray for the landlord who avoids you, that the Holy Spirit would touch his conscience, that he would cease from evasion and from lying, and would take responsibility as a man before God must do. May God break hardness where there is hardness, and grant repentance and a willingness to make amends where amends are due. We pray for all the residents of that house, that they may come to know the truth and to walk in it, and above all that they may know the one Mediator between God and men, the Lord Jesus Christ, for there is but one name given under heaven whereby we must be saved.

And for you, we pray that you may be kept from the bitterness which so easily besets the injured soul. Go to Jesus, whose pierced hands alone can cover the unrighteous with a spotless robe of righteousness. Confess your own sins to Him and seek His forgiveness, and then, by His grace, forgive those who have sinned against you. Vengeance belongs to the Lord, and He will repay. Your part is to cry, Deliver me, I pray, from the hand of those I fear, and to plead His promise, I will surely do you good. He can give immediate pardon and immediate salvation to every soul that trusts Him, for His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. Trust Him and be strong. He who has preserved your life hitherto will provide all you need beside.

May the Lord grant you quietness of mind, a refuge in His mercy seat, and a heart at rest in Christ, who loved His people and gave Himself for them. May He establish you in faith, in patience, and in holy fear, and make you to know that you are safe when you stand in Christ's blood only for your hope and the Spirit's work only for your life.

Thank you for sharing this painful and frightening experience and for asking for prayer. I give thanks with you that God preserved your life through the danger in that apartment and again when you were confronted with false accusations. The Lord sees what is hidden and He is your refuge, and it is right to turn to Him as you have done, trusting the promise that many are the afflictions of the righteous but the Lord delivers him out of them all.

I hear how much distress remains. You are left with unanswered questions about whether the electrical danger was caused intentionally, with signs that someone may have entered your home, and now with a wounding public accusation from a woman you had never spoken to and with silence from your former landlord. It is understandable that these things would leave you anxious and searching for the truth. Only God knows the heart and the intentions of every person, and He will bring what is hidden into the light in His time.

Because so much is still unclear, I want to encourage you with care about accusations. Scripture teaches that every matter should be established at the mouth of two or three witnesses and that we should not receive or repeat an accusation lightly. We will all give account for every idle word, and even when a charge might be true, we are called not to judge in a disorderly way but to seek truth in an orderly and peaceable way. This protects both you and others. It is wise not to hold a suspicion in your heart alone but to bring what can be shown to those who can properly examine it. If you have concrete evidence of dangerous tampering or unlawful entry, please keep a careful record and consider bringing it to the appropriate authorities or to trusted legal counsel who can help you pursue what is right and lawful. This is not a lack of faith but a right use of the means God has provided for justice and protection.

It is also painful to be accused falsely yourself. When you are charged with something you did not do, remember that Christ Himself was met with conjecture and false charges and yet remained steadfast, leaving judgment to the Father. You did well to state the truth quietly that you never entered their apartment. Continue to walk in truth, without returning accusation for accusation, and commit your reputation to God who judges righteously.

I will pray with you and for all involved.

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, I thank You that You kept this dear one from harm and delivered him from danger. You see all that has happened in that house, You know every heart and every motive, and nothing is hidden from You. I ask that You bring the truth into the light according to Your wisdom. If wrong was done, expose it so that it can be addressed justly. If there has been misunderstanding and suspicion, bring clarity and peace.

Lord, I pray for the former landlord and for the residents of that house. Soften any hardness of heart. Take away a heart of stone and give a heart of flesh that hears Your call. Bring conviction where there has been dishonesty or neglect, and bring repentance and a willingness to take responsibility and to make right what can be made right. Guard all of them from further falsehood and from any desire to harm.

For Your child who has suffered, grant rest from anxiety and fear. Free him from rivalry and plotting and the burden of false accusation. Give him wisdom to know how to seek truth without sinning in speech, courage to take lawful and wise steps for safety, and grace to forgive as You have forgiven us, while still desiring what is just. Let him live orderly and temperately in Your peace, crowned even now with quietness of conscience before You. Keep him safe in his new home and surround him with trustworthy counsel and support.

We ask this trusting not in our own righteousness but in the mercy of Jesus Christ alone, who is our salvation and our advocate. Amen.

The psalm you quoted is true and remains true for you. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. He keeps all his bones. Not one of them is broken. Affliction will slay the wicked, but those who hate the righteous will be condemned. God saw what happened in that place and He sees what is happening now.

It is understandable that you feel unsettled and even afraid after finding signs that someone may have entered your home, and after being shouted at and falsely accused of something you did not do. Only God fully knows the hearts and intentions of people. When false witnesses rise up and breathe out cruelty, the pain is deep. The Scriptures speak often about this, and they point us to look away from the threats and to look to the Lord Himself. He is your light and your salvation. Whom shall you fear. He is the strength of your life. In the time of trouble He can hide you in His shelter and keep your foot from being taken.

You asked for truth to be revealed, and that is a right prayer. Jesus said He is the way, the truth and the life. Truth dwells in those who walk with Him, and there is no greater joy than to walk in truth. Mercy and truth met together in Jesus Christ. Apart from Him, justice demands that the penalty for wrong be paid, and mercy would violate justice. In Christ, God satisfied both, so that sin is forgiven without denying justice. For those who reject that mercy, the wrath of God remains revealed against all unrighteousness. For those who trust Him, all the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth to those who keep His covenant and walk in His ways. That is why we can pray for both truth and mercy at the same time. We can ask that what was done in secret be brought to light if wrong was done, and we can also ask that those involved would come to repentance and find mercy.

You also asked that God would break hardness and give a heart of flesh, that lies would cease and responsibility would be taken. That is the right way to pray for those who have not apologized or made things right. The only real hope for any person is a true and complete repentance before God, turning away from what separates us from Him and asking His forgiveness. So we pray that the Holy Spirit would work in the landlord and in the others you mentioned, that He would convict them, soften them, and guide them to speak truthfully and to do what is right. We also pray that God would protect you from any further harm or accusation, and that He would give you wisdom as you seek understanding. Scripture urges us to cry out for wisdom and to search for it as for silver and hidden treasure, and God promises to be our confidence and to keep us.

In your own heart, guard against letting fear or bitterness take root. It is easy in a long trial to become like one who says call me bitter, but God wants to do a perfect work within you, to make you open and filled with His love so that love and faith and hope can flow out to others. All things can work together for good for those who love God, and He has a plan and watches over you. Even what was meant for harm, God is able to use to make you stronger and more like Christ.

We join you in prayer now. Father, we thank You that You preserved this life through danger and that You protected again when false accusations were made. We ask that You show Your tokens for good in this situation. If any wrong was done with the electrical system or with entry into the home, bring it to light. Expose what needs to be exposed. Keep this person safe from all harm and from every false charge. Touch the hearts of the landlord and the others involved. Take away the heart of stone and give a heart of flesh. Bring them to repentance, to truthfulness, and to a willingness to take responsibility. Let integrity and uprightness preserve Your child as he waits on You. Redeem him out of all his troubles, deliver him from the will of those who would harm him, and let him experience the joy of Your presence, Your grace and Your compassion.
