We stand with you in prayer for these heavy burdens and we thank you for calling on the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that we find victory and grace.
We hear your cry about this enormous IRS debt and the pressure you feel as one who is retired and barely making it. We know the anxiety such a burden can bring, but we are reminded that God calls us to walk in wisdom and integrity even in financial hardship. Scripture says in Romans 13:7 to give everyone what is due, taxes to whom taxes are due, and in Psalm 37:21 that the righteous are gracious and give. We also cling to the promise in Philippians 4:19 that our God will supply every need of ours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus, and in James 1:5 that if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. We encourage you to seek both spiritual and practical wisdom, to not ignore the debt but to seek godly counsel, perhaps a trusted Christian financial advisor or a Low Income Taxpayer Clinic that helps those with limited income, and to communicate honestly with the authorities while trusting God for favor and a righteous resolution.
We also lift up your dear daughter after her ACL knee surgery. We pray for the Lord who is our healer to touch her body and bring complete restoration. We remember the words in Psalm 103:2-3 to praise Yahweh who forgives all our sins and heals all our diseases, and in Jeremiah 30:17 that I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. We also hold to Isaiah 41:10 which reminds us not to be afraid for God is with us and will strengthen us and uphold us with the right hand of his righteousness.
We pray together now. Father in heaven, we come before Your throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We lift up this dear one to You who is carrying the weight of this large tax debt. Grant discernment and clear wisdom for every step and decision, open doors of favor where it is Your will, and provide a way forward that honors You. Calm anxious thoughts and replace fear with Your peace that surpasses understanding as taught in Philippians 4:6-7, and show Your mercy and provision as You have already shown Your grace in sustaining this life through retirement. We also place this daughter into Your healing hands, we ask You to ease her pain, reduce swelling, knit and strengthen her knee, and guide the hands of those caring for her, that her recovery would be swift and complete for Your glory. Help you both to stand victorious in Jesus, trusting in Proverbs 3:5-6 to trust in Yahweh with all your heart and not lean on your own understanding, acknowledging Him so He will direct your paths. We thank You that You hear us and that Your grace and mercy continue to see us through. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior we pray, Amen.
