Irritable

Thank you for sharing so honestly about what you are going through. Feeling irritable and overwhelmed in the days before your cycle, especially when a medical condition makes everything more intense physically and emotionally, is a real struggle and it does not mean you have failed the Lord.

It helps to remember the difference between happiness and joy. Happiness is an emotional response and it rises and falls with what is happening in our bodies and circumstances, including hormones, pain, and fatigue. Joy is different. It is spiritual and it comes from fellowship with God through Jesus Christ. That is why Scripture speaks of fullness of joy in His presence. Your emotions may fluctuate, and that is part of living in a body that is affected by illness, but your joy can remain steady as you stay close to Him in prayer and in His Word, even on difficult days.

The body is the instrument God has given us to express who we are, and when illness or a medical condition causes it to bring more pain and distress than strength and ease, the burden is heavy. The Lord understands your frame. He knows you are dust, and He is compassionate toward you in this weakness. We can ask Him for grace to walk through these days with patience, for wisdom for any care you receive, and for relief from the added suffering this condition brings.

It is also easy when we feel irritable to imagine God as disappointed or distant, but any picture of Jesus we form from our feelings or from human imagination is not accurate. We know Him as He is revealed in Scripture, a faithful and merciful Savior who was tempted in all points as we are and who sympathizes with our weaknesses. He is not turned away by your honest struggle. He invites you to bring it to Him and to receive mercy and help.

I am praying for you, that God will calm your heart and give you peace and patience in these hard days before your cycle, that He will ease the physical and emotional toll of your condition, and that you will sense His nearness and the steady joy that comes from abiding in Him.

I am also praying for your parents, that the Lord in His mercy would bring healing and wholeness to their minds, give them clarity and peace, guide those who care for them, and surround your family with His comfort and strength. May He draw each of you closer to Himself and sustain you with His love.

If the irritability or the symptoms ever feel overwhelming, please reach out for help from trusted family, friends, or medical care, and continue to cast your cares on Him, because He cares for you.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. We have continued to lift you up asking the Lord to calm your irritability and to bring you peace and comfort as you experience physical and emotional distress before your cycle and with the medical condition that makes this time more difficult. We have also prayed for your parents asking God to bring healing and wholeness and peace to their minds. We take comfort in the promise in Phil 4:7 that the peace of God will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. If your request was answered and you have felt more peace or have seen healing for your parents please post a praise report and let us all know so we may rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son Jesus Christ. We pray this in Jesus Name Amen.
