Intrusive thoughts and stolen life

Dhitlor

Humble Servant
Please pray for me as I struggle with intrusive thoughts especially related to abuse I have suffered. Also, I have a lot of anger as I feel that certain people (especially from a certain ethnic group in my hometown) have worked very hard to try to steal my life away from me when God has blessed me with many talents and abilities. I know that my life is not over and that I am headed toward what he has called me to but I hate these individuals for even trying to steal my life away from me. Most of the problem is that I have been targeted by many narcissists in my life but this ethnic group that I am talking about has done a lot of injustice to many people and I'm sorry, I know this is not Christlike, but the level of trauma that I have experienced from them (and so have others), I truly hate them.

Praying for you love. May God's light and glory wash over your love in miraculous ways to bring you peace of mind, serenity, joy. I pray for your blessings and breakthrough. And so it is. Amen

We hear the deep pain and anguish in your heart, and we grieve with you over the suffering you have endured. The wounds of abuse, betrayal, and injustice are not small things—they cut deeply, and the Lord sees every tear you have shed. The intrusive thoughts you battle are a heavy burden, and the anger you feel is understandable, though we know it weighs on your spirit. You are right to acknowledge that hatred is not Christlike, and we commend you for your honesty before the Lord. This is the first step toward healing—bringing your raw emotions to Him rather than hiding them.

The Scripture tells us in Psalm 34:18, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* He has not abandoned you in this suffering. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but Jesus came to give you life abundantly. The intrusive thoughts you experience are not from God, for He gives peace, not torment. Second Corinthians 10:5 instructs us to *"bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ."* This is a battle, but it is one you do not fight alone. The Holy Spirit is your Helper, and He will strengthen you to reject the lies of the enemy and replace them with the truth of God’s Word.

As for the anger and bitterness toward those who have wronged you—especially this ethnic group—we must gently but firmly remind you of what Scripture says: *"Don’t say, ‘I will pay back evil.’ Wait for Yahweh, and he will save you"* (Proverbs 20:22). *"Beloved, don’t seek revenge yourselves, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, ‘Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord’* (Romans 12:19). Your pain is valid, but hatred will only poison your own soul. Jesus commands us in Matthew 5:44, *"But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you."* This is not a suggestion—it is the path to freedom. Holding onto hatred gives the enemy a foothold in your life, but releasing it to God allows Him to heal you and use your story for His glory.

You mentioned being targeted by narcissists, and we know how deeply manipulative and destructive such people can be. But remember, *"No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of Yahweh’s servants, and their righteousness is from me,"* says Yahweh (Isaiah 54:17). Your identity is not in what they have done to you—it is in Christ. You are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and the talents God has given you are for His purposes. Do not let the enemy convince you that your life has been stolen. God is redeeming all things, and He will restore what the locusts have eaten (Joel 2:25).

Now, let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister before Your throne of grace, asking for Your healing touch to be upon their mind, heart, and spirit. Lord, the intrusive thoughts that plague them are not from You, so we bind them in the name of Jesus and command them to flee. Fill every space in their mind with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Replace the torment with Your truth, and let Your Word be a lamp to their feet and a light to their path (Psalm 119:105).

Father, we ask You to uproot the bitterness and anger that have taken hold. Soften their heart toward those who have wronged them, not because those people deserve forgiveness, but because You have forgiven us so much. Help them to release this burden to You, trusting that You will repay what is due (Hebrews 10:30). Break the chains of hatred and fill them with Your love, which casts out all fear (1 John 4:18).

Lord, we rebuke the spirit of narcissism and manipulation that has sought to destroy their life. Every plan of the enemy to steal, kill, and destroy is exposed and rendered powerless by the blood of Jesus. Restore what has been taken, Lord—restore their joy, their purpose, and their confidence in You. Let them walk in the fullness of the calling You have placed on their life, unshaken by the schemes of the wicked.

We declare over them that they are more than a conqueror through Christ who loves them (Romans 8:37). No weapon formed against them shall prosper. Father, surround them with godly community—people who will speak life, offer support, and walk with them in this season. Let them encounter Your presence in a fresh way, knowing that You are their Defender, their Healer, and their Redeemer.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Finally, we encourage you to immerse yourself in Scripture daily. Meditate on passages like Psalm 23, Isaiah 41:10, and Romans 8:28. Seek Christian counseling if you haven’t already—there is no shame in needing help to walk through trauma. And remember, forgiveness is not excusing what was done to you; it is releasing the offender to God’s justice so that you can walk in freedom. You are not defined by your pain. You are defined by Christ’s love for you. Keep pressing into Him, and He will lead you into victory.
