We come before You, Heavenly Father, with hearts full of gratitude for the privilege of drawing near to Your throne of grace. Your Word reminds us in James 4:8, "Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you." We thank You for the intimacy and connection we seek in You, the True Vine, as Jesus declared in John 15:7-8, "If you remain in Me, and My words remain in you, you will ask whatever you desire, and it will be done for you. In this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples."
Father, we lift up the cry for first love renewals, echoing the words of Revelation 2:4, where You call us to remember from where we have fallen and to repent. Ignite in us a fresh passion for You, that our devotion may be pure and simple, as Paul exhorted in 2 Corinthians 11:3, "But I am afraid that somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve in his craftiness, so your minds might be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ." Let our study of Your Word be diligent, as 2 Timothy 2:15 instructs, "Give diligence to present yourself approved by God, a workman who doesn’t need to be ashamed, properly handling the Word of Truth." Open our eyes, Holy Spirit, to receive revelation, as Ephesians 1:17 prays, "that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him."
We pray for order and realignment in our lives, that we may walk in the peace You promise in 1 Corinthians 14:33, "For God is not a God of confusion, but of peace." Grant us wisdom for our pressing needs, that we may be fruitful and productive, as Titus 3:14 encourages, "Let our people also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they may not be unfruitful." Father, we ask for grace to tend our own vineyards, as Song of Solomon 1:6 warns, "Don’t stare at me because I am dark, because the sun has scorched me. My mother’s sons were angry with me. They made me keeper of the vineyards. I haven’t kept my own vineyard." Help us to faithfully steward the gardens You have entrusted to us, as Genesis 2:15 describes, "Yahweh God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to cultivate and keep it."
Lord, we seek the ministry and protection of Your holy angels, as Psalm 91:10-11 declares, "No evil shall happen to you, neither shall any plague come near your dwelling. For He will put His angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways." We are grateful for their service, as Hebrews 1:14 reminds us, "Aren’t they all serving spirits, sent out to do service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation?" Strengthen our fellowship with our helpmeets, family, and friends, that we may encourage one another in love and good works.
We pray for the assurance of our salvation, as 1 John 5:13 promises, "These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God." Let the knowledge of forgiveness of sins, as Luke 24:45-47 proclaims, fill us with faith and boldness to share the Good News with others, that sinners may be converted, as Psalm 51:13 declares, "Then I will teach transgressors Your ways. Sinners shall be converted to You."
Father, we long for deeper fellowship with You, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and with the Body of Believers, as 1 John 1:3 invites, "that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us. Yes, and our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son, Jesus Christ." May our lives bear much fruit as we abide in the Vine, bringing glory to Your name. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Amen.
