Insomnia

Beloved of All
Unable to fall asleep and it hinders from being my best at work, please pray so I can recover from sleep deprivation and insomnia

We join with you in bringing this burden of insomnia and sleep deprivation before the Lord, for He cares deeply about your health and your daily work. We understand how exhaustion can make it difficult to think clearly and to serve faithfully, and we want to lift you up for healing and for peaceful rest.

The Scripture reminds us that sleep is a gift from God to His beloved. Psalm 127:2 says It is vain for you to rise up early, to stay up late, eating the bread of toil, for he gives sleep to his loved ones. And Psalm 4:8 says In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety. Often sleeplessness is tied to anxiety and a restless mind, and the Lord invites us to bring those worries to Him. Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. 1 Peter 5:7 reminds us to be casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. Jesus Himself says in Matthew 11:28 Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest.

We notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently remind you that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is by trusting in Jesus Christ, His death and resurrection for our sins, that we are reconciled to God and can come boldly to Him in prayer, and we encourage you to place your full trust in Him.

We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up our dear one who is weary from insomnia. Lord, You know the nights of tossing and turning and the days of fatigue at work. We ask You to calm the mind and body, to quiet every anxious thought, and to grant deep, restorative sleep. Let Your peace that surpasses all understanding guard the heart and thoughts. Restore strength, heal the effects of sleep deprivation, and help this dear one to be renewed each morning to do good work unto You. We ask that You help establish healthy rhythms of rest, and we pray for wisdom to steward the body well, for our bodies are temples of Your Holy Spirit. May this time draw our friend closer to You, trusting You even in the night watches. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to seek the Lord in prayer each evening, casting your cares on Him before you lie down, and to practice wise stewardship of your health as you are able, such as keeping a consistent bedtime, limiting caffeine and screens late in the day, and creating a quiet, peaceful environment for rest. If this sleeplessness continues, we encourage you also to seek wise medical counsel, for God often brings healing through many means. We trust the Lord will be your keeper and your rest, and we stand with you for restored sleep and renewed strength for the work He has given you to do.

Thank you for letting us know how hard these sleepless nights have been. Trying to get through workdays on little rest is draining, and we can hear how much you want to feel like yourself again.

We are praying for you to find real rest and for your body and mind to recover from this stretch of sleep deprivation. God designed sleep as a gift that restores us, and when it is disrupted it touches everything, our focus at work, our mood, even our sense of peace.

Because ongoing insomnia can have many different causes, it is wise to bring this to a medical professional as well as to the Lord in prayer. If you have not already, we encourage you to see your primary care doctor and let them know how long this has been going on and how it is affecting your days. They can help determine what next steps or referrals might be helpful.

Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus name. You see their weariness and their desire to do good work. We ask for Your comfort in the night hours, for wisdom for any doctor or helper they see, and for gradual, restorative sleep in Your care. Give them patience and hope as they wait on You. Amen.

I pray the lord delivers from this affliction. The word of God tells us sleep and perfect peace are ours in God. So in Jesus’ name I decree and declare you will receive rest. Additionally, please consider fasting and praying to receive revelation about your case to understand what is stopping your rest. Sometimes it’s an open door spiritually. Etc.

Gof in peace and be healed.

Sleep that will not come makes the workday twice as hard, especially when you are already running on empty. There is a spoken prayer called the Limbic System Repatterning Prayer on the One Prayer at a Time YouTube channel, prayed over calming an overreactive stress response and deep restful sleep, and listening is all it asks of you. I hope you find rest soon, and steadier nights after that.

Your request concerning sleeplessness and weariness has been heard, and we bring it before the Lord with you.

It is the Lord who giveth His beloved sleep, as the Psalmist declares, and that sleep is not merely the closing of the eyes but a gift of contentment and security from His hand. When the heart is burdened and the mind is restless, we are taught to cast all our care upon Him, for He careth for us. How often wakefulness comes from anxious thoughts, from the cares of the day and the labours of tomorrow pressing upon the soul in the night watches. Yet our Father knows our frame, He knows we need rest to recruit our strength for the duties He assigns to us, and He would have us lie down in peace and sleep, for He alone maketh us to dwell in safety.

We pray for you now, that the Lord in His mercy would restore to you quiet and refreshing sleep, that He would calm the thoughts that keep you waking, and grant your body the rest it requires. May He quiet your heart with His peace, and help you to commit both night and day into His faithful keeping, trusting that whether we wake or sleep we are still with Him.

We ask the Lord also to sustain you in your daily work. He has ordained labour and He delights to see His children diligent therein, but He does not require of us a striving that forgets our dependence upon Him. May He renew your strength, clear your mind, and enable you to serve faithfully in the place where He has set you, not in your own strength alone, but by His grace working in you.

Cast your burden upon the Lord before you lie down, seek to make your last thoughts at night thoughts of His goodness and His promises, and remember that even when sleep is broken, His lovingkindness faileth not. I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep, for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety.

May the God of all comfort give you nights of sweet and unbroken rest, and days of renewed vigour to do His will, until you find that perfect rest which remaineth for the people of God.

We commend you to His tender care, praying that He will in His own time and way grant you full restoration from this affliction. Amen.

Father, humbly ask for Your power to intervene. Please meet deepest spiritual, physical, emotional, financial needs according to Your Will and timing in Jesus Name Amen
