Beloved
🙇🏻 Father, thank You for "perseverance and the encouragement of Scripture," Rom 15:4. Thank You "The Best King of Israel inquired of the Lord," and "You said," 1 Sam 23:2, "told him," 1 Sam 30:7-8, "answered," 2 Sam 2:1, "replied," 2 Sam 5:19, and, "said" 2 Sam 5:23, each time... He was 5 for 5 in inquiries to answers, Lord, 100%, Old Covenant. How much more now, with unveiled face, 2 Cor 3:18, and Your Word and a much Greater Covenant Heb 8:6, Lk 22:20, and fullness of Kingdom in The Holy Spirit, Matt 11:11?

Jesus, You said "My sheep hear My voice," John 10:27, "we'll never follow a stranger," John 10:5. You tell us which way to go. We ask to be filled with knowledge of Your Will with wisdom and understanding so we can walk in the way that pleases you, Col 1:9-10, for reward diligent seeking, Heb 11:6, and fervent prayers avail much, James 5:17. So lead us, so we can "follow You," walk in confident trust, we already trust who You are, and we'll do what You say and follow wherever You lead, "so we walk by faith," 2 Cor 5:17, and gladly do so, Ps 103:20...

Praying we all are graciously strengthened to pray and not lose heart, Luke 18:1. Grace to remain in love and praying neither my faith nor her faith will fail, and afterwards we strengthen others, Luke 22:31-32. I ask for prayers from the church that Jesus builds that the gates of hell will not prevail against, Matt 16:18, to resist the devil with me, James 4:7, resisting him firmly in the faith, 1 Pet 5:8. Strengthen me with power to know the dimensions of CHRIST'S LOVE, Eph 3:16-20. Holy Spirit remind her, me and all of us of Jesus' Truth, John 14:26, John 17:17, Thank You in advance for moving mountains, Mk 11:23-24, in Jesus' Name.

We come before the Lord with hearts full of faith, echoing your cry for divine direction and the assurance that His voice is still speaking today. You stand on the truth that our Good Shepherd’s sheep hear His voice, and we rejoice in that promise. The Scriptures declare, "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me" (John 10:27 WEB). How blessed we are to live under the New Covenant, where the Holy Spirit dwells within us, guiding us into all truth (John 16:13). The same God who answered David with perfect clarity is faithful to answer us today, if we seek Him with whole hearts.

We lift up your desire to walk in the knowledge of His will, filled with wisdom and spiritual understanding. The Word reminds us, "For this cause, we also, since the day we heard this, don’t cease praying and making requests for you, that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, that you may walk worthily of the Lord, to please him in all respects" (Colossians 1:9-10 WEB). This is not a passive pursuit but an active, diligent seeking, for "without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to him, for he who comes to God must believe that he exists, and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him" (Hebrews 11:6 WEB). Let us press in with fervent prayer, knowing that "the effective, earnest prayer of a righteous man avails much" (James 5:16 WEB).

Yet we must also examine our hearts, for the Lord searches them and knows our motives. Are we seeking His will above our own desires? Are we willing to surrender every plan, every hope, and every expectation to His perfect timing and purpose? The psalmist writes, "Delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this" (Psalm 37:4-5 WEB). True delight in the Lord aligns our desires with His, and true commitment means laying down our agendas at the foot of the cross.

We also lift up the matter of perseverance in prayer, for you ask that neither your faith nor hers will fail. The enemy seeks to devour, to discourage, and to divide, but we stand firm in the truth that "the gates of Hades will not prevail against" Christ’s church (Matthew 16:18 WEB). We resist the devil, knowing that as we submit to God, he must flee (James 4:7). Yet resistance requires vigilance, are there areas where compromise has crept in? Are there unconfessed sins, bitterness, or unforgiveness that hinder our prayers? The Word warns, "If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me" (Psalm 66:18 WEB). Let us humble ourselves before the Lord, confessing and repenting, so that our prayers may rise unhindered.

You ask for strength to know the dimensions of Christ’s love, a love so vast it surpasses knowledge (Ephesians 3:18-19). This love is the foundation of our faith and the power that sustains us in every trial. Yet we must also remember that love is not merely a feeling but a commandment. Jesus said, "If you love me, keep my commandments" (John 14:15 WEB). Are we walking in obedience to His Word, even when it is difficult? Are we loving others as He has loved us, laying down our lives for our brothers and sisters in Christ (1 John 3:16)?

We pray now with boldness and humility, declaring these truths over your life:

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the privilege of coming before Your throne of grace, where we receive mercy and find grace to help in our time of need (Hebrews 4:16). We lift up this dear one before You, asking that You fill them with the knowledge of Your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. May they walk in a manner worthy of You, fully pleasing You in every way (Colossians 1:9-10). Strengthen them with power through Your Spirit in their inner being, so that Christ may dwell in their heart through faith (Ephesians 3:16-17). Root and ground them in love, that they may know the breadth, length, height, and depth of Your love, surpassing all knowledge, and be filled with all Your fullness (Ephesians 3:18-19).

Lord, we ask that You remind them, and all of us, of Your truth, for Your Word is truth (John 17:17). Guard their hearts and minds against the lies of the enemy, and let them hear Your voice clearly, as a sheep knows its shepherd (John 10:4). Give them the grace to persevere in prayer, not losing heart, for You are a rewarder of those who diligently seek You (Luke 18:1, Hebrews 11:6). Strengthen their faith so that after they have been tested, they may strengthen others (Luke 22:32).

We resist the devil and his schemes, standing firm in the faith (1 Peter 5:8-9). We declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17). Move the mountains in their life, Lord, for nothing is impossible with You (Mark 11:23-24). May they walk by faith and not by sight, trusting in Your promises (2 Corinthians 5:7).

Father, we also ask that You search their heart and reveal any area that does not align with Your will. If there is sin, bring it to light and grant them the grace to repent. If there is unforgiveness, soften their heart to release it. If there is compromise, give them the courage to stand firm. May they love You with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength, and love their neighbor as themselves (Mark 12:30-31).

We thank You, Lord, that You are faithful to complete the good work You have begun in them (Philippians 1:6). May they grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory both now and forever. Amen.

We hear your deep desire to follow the Lord's voice with the same clarity and confidence that David experienced. There’s a genuine thirst in your words, and we’re grateful to join you in bringing this, and her, before God. It’s clear you long not just for direction, but for the nearness of Christ and for faith that won’t fail when the battle is hard. We are praying with you for exactly that.

One quiet, practical rhythm that has helped others in seasons of seeking is this: set aside a regular block of time, even just a few minutes, to be still and invite the Lord to speak. You already immerse yourself in Scripture, that’s your anchor. In that stillness, you might write down what you sense, then test it against God’s Word and perhaps share it with a trusted, mature believer or a small group from your church. Asking a prayer partner to join you weekly to specifically pray over the guidance you’re seeking could be a tangible way to experience the same kind of support you’re asking for here. It also puts you in a place where others can help you discern, which is a safeguard and an encouragement.

We also want to encourage you in this: the very act of praying and not losing heart, as you’re doing, shapes your spirit to recognize Jesus’ voice more clearly over time. Keep leaning into that. Even when the answer tarries, your faith and hers are being refined, not undermined. And you aren’t alone. We stand with you, resisting the enemy’s attempts to sow doubt or division.

Lord Jesus, thank You that You are the Good Shepherd whose sheep truly hear Your voice. We lift up our brother and this woman he cares about. Strengthen both of them to pray with persistence and to trust Your leading. Guard their faith from failing, and when the enemy presses in, give them sure footing on Your Word. Surround them with Your people who will pray and stand with them. Grant clear direction, and let them know Your peace as they wait. We ask this in Your mighty name, Jesus.

That fervent pleading for the knowledge of His will, that confident expectation of hearing the Shepherd’s voice, is the very breath of the life of faith. You have grasped the secret of David’s inquiries, and rightly so, for the covenant under which we stand is a better covenant, established upon better promises. The veil is rent; the Spirit makes intercession with groanings that cannot be uttered, and the sheep know the voice of their own Shepherd.

But mark this well: the hearing of faith is not an eloquent argument of the flesh, but a lowly, expectant listening. The Holy Spirit is not received by the works of the law, but by the hearing of faith. This choicest of gifts is the seal that the way of simple trust is right. Therefore, do not seek an audible voice from the bright cloud to dismay you, but the inward touch and consoling word of Christ, who bids the sinking heart, “Be not afraid.” Experimental acquaintance with Him is the death of doubt. It is better to live near to Christ and enjoy His presence than to have the heavens rend. The voice of Jesus cheers and comforts; it is the assurance you crave.

Yet know this: the times we deem most secure are often the devil’s hour to attack. It is just when we think we have no need of vigilance that the snare is laid. Do not marvel if this wrestling comes upon you when the soul seems on the verge of a great blessing. Peter, who walked on the water to his Lord, was first a man of little faith, and then sternly tried. The Canaanite woman, with her great faith, had to press through silence and seeming rebuff. Little faith is gently censured, not to cast us down, but to stretch out the shriveled hand of our confidence. To be of little faith is to be of a sad countenance when we ought to be hearing a sound of abundance of rain.

Listen for it! Prayerful faith has quick ears. Elijah said to Ahab, “There is a sound of abundance of rain,” long before the cloud the size of a man’s hand had risen from the sea. Long before the eyes see or the ear hears, faith perceives the coming of the blessing. She hears the footfall of the angel ascending Jacob’s ladder. If you have asked believingly, then ask expectantly. You must not only go to Carmel to pray, you must send Gehazi seven times to look toward the sea. Let not a wisp of unbelief make you waver, for he that wavers need not think he shall receive anything of the Lord.

As for the cry that neither your faith nor another’s shall fail, and that you might strengthen others afterward, this is a high and holy determination. Yet be warned: soft religion, which shuns the reproach of Adullam, will not stand in the day of battle. The mighty men who fought for David broke through the Philistine garrison to draw water from the well of Bethlehem; such is the valor of a faith that hazards all. Our life is to be a life of building with the trowel in one hand and the sword in the other. Do not pray for a faith that merely escapes the flames, but for a faith that, when cast into the furnace, walks with the Son of God and sings in the midst of the coals of juniper. The promise is that the gates of hell shall not prevail against the church that Christ builds, and it is in close union with that warrior host, strengthening one another’s hands, that the enemy is resisted.

Cease any quibbling introspection that looks for a warrant within your own frame. The majesty of a “Thus saith the Lord” is the only anchor. The thunder of Jehovah’s voice silences every boasting Goliath. Bring your pressing needs straight to the throne of grace, not as a proud sinner dictating terms, but as a fool made wise enough to trust the promise. Mercy is lightning-swift to answer the cry of faith. Therefore, be not afraid; only believe. Do not let the putrid chambers of your unworthiness be sealed with a stone of despair. The stone that seals the cave of impossibility is rolled away when Christ draws near. Go up again to the place of watching. Pray, and lose not heart. Though the heavens be as brass for a season, yet the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Hope thou in God, for the answer is on the wing. Rise up, take your place among those who are mighty by faith, and expect the flowing of the waters.
