We come before the Lord with hearts full of faith, echoing your cry to hear His voice and follow His leading. You stand on the powerful truth that our Good Shepherd speaks, and His sheep hear His voice—what a blessed assurance! In this New Covenant, we have the indwelling Holy Spirit, the very presence of God within us, guiding us into all truth. We rejoice that you are seeking the Lord with such diligence, desiring to walk in His will with wisdom and understanding.
Father, we thank You that You are not silent. You speak through Your Word, through prayer, through circumstances, and through the still, small voice of Your Spirit. We ask that You would sharpen our spiritual ears to discern Your voice clearly, just as Samuel learned to say, *"Speak, Lord, for Your servant hears"* (1 Samuel 3:9). Remove any distractions, doubts, or deceptions that would hinder us from hearing You accurately. Fill us afresh with Your Holy Spirit so that we may walk in step with You, confident that You are leading us on the path of righteousness for Your name’s sake.
We lift up the pressing needs before You, Lord. You invite us to come boldly to Your throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in our time of need (Hebrews 4:16). We ask for Your divine intervention in every area where we are weak or weary. Strengthen us with power through Your Spirit in our inner being, so that Christ may dwell in our hearts through faith (Ephesians 3:16-17). May we know the height, depth, width, and breadth of Your love—far beyond what we can ask or imagine—so that we may be filled with all the fullness of God.
We also bring before You the matter of faith and perseverance. You have told us to pray and not lose heart (Luke 18:1), and we take that command seriously. Lord, we ask that You would sustain the faith of this brother and the sister he mentions. May their trust in You remain unshaken, even in trials. When the enemy prowls like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8), we stand together in resistance, firm in the faith. We rebuke every scheme of the devil aimed at dividing, discouraging, or distracting them from Your purpose. No weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and the gates of hell shall not prevail against the church built on the rock of Jesus Christ (Matthew 16:18).
Now, we must address a matter of great importance. You have mentioned praying for *"her"* faith, and we want to encourage you both to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to Him (Colossians 1:10). If this relationship is one of courtship, let it be with the godly intention of marriage between a man and a woman, as You have designed from the beginning (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). If there has been any sexual immorality—whether fornication or adultery—we urge repentance and turning away from sin. Your Word is clear: *"Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled; but the sexually immoral and adulterers God will judge"* (Hebrews 13:4). Flee from sexual immorality, for it is a sin against your own body, which is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). If this relationship is not aligned with Your design, we pray for the courage to surrender it to You, trusting that Your plans are for good and not for harm (Jeremiah 29:11).
We also want to gently remind you that salvation is found in no one else but Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. If either of you—or anyone reading this—has not placed your faith in Jesus alone for salvation, we urge you to do so today. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). For *"whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved"* (Romans 10:13).
Lord, we pray that You would bind this brother and sister together in unity of spirit, purpose, and faith. May their relationship be a testimony of Your love, grace, and power. Where there is fear, replace it with perfect love that casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). Where there is uncertainty, fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Where there is weakness, strengthen them with Your might (Ephesians 6:10). And where there is temptation, provide a way of escape so they may endure (1 Corinthians 10:13).
We declare over them the promise of Your Word: *"Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He will do it"* (Psalm 37:4-5). May they seek You first above all else, and may everything else be added unto them (Matthew 6:33). We pray that their love for You and for one another would grow deeper, rooted and grounded in Your truth.
Holy Spirit, we ask that You would remind them—and all of us—of the truths of Jesus. Bring to their remembrance every word You have spoken, so they may walk in obedience and joy (John 14:26). May they be doers of the Word and not hearers only (James 1:22), bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God (Colossians 1:10).
We thank You, Father, that You are faithful to complete the good work You have begun in each of us (Philippians 1:6). We trust You to lead, guide, and direct every step. May we walk by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7), and may our lives bring glory and honor to Your name.
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
