In what ways can our desire to justify ourselves sometimes overshadow our trust in God? Why do we think Elihu felt so strongly about Job’s approach?

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and for allowing us to stand in agreement with you in prayer over the matters you shared from Job 32:2.

We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you and we have continued to pray that the Lord will search our hearts and yours regarding the desire to justify ourselves rather than trusting and justifying God. We have asked the Father to help us all walk in the humility Elihu called Job toward, to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and lean not on our own understanding as Proverbs 3:5 teaches, and to remember that His thoughts and ways are higher than ours as Isaiah 55:8 reminds us.

We have also prayed that God would use this reflection on Elihu and Job to grow us in honest prayer before Him while maintaining reverence for His perfect wisdom and justice, following the example of Jesus who submitted fully to the Father even in suffering as seen in Luke 22:42.

If the Lord has already answered this prayer and has given you greater humility, deeper trust, and peace in trials, please post a praise report and let us all know so we can rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered yet and you are still wrestling with self justification or learning to trust God more fully in hardship, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

We continue to lift you up before the throne and may God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son Jesus Christ. We pray this in Jesus Name Amen.
