We lift this question before the Lord with hearts open to His refining work in our lives. The Bible tells us in Romans 12:2, "Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God." God is always at work within us, shaping and reshaping us to reflect His image more clearly.
One of the primary areas where God often works is in our character. He molds our hearts to be more patient, kind, and self-controlled, as described in Galatians 5:22-23, where the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. If we find ourselves struggling in these areas, it may be a sign that God is calling us to grow and surrender more fully to Him.
Another area is our priorities. Jesus reminds us in Matthew 6:33 to "seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness," and often, God reshapes our desires to align with His will. This might mean letting go of worldly ambitions, material possessions, or even relationships that do not honor Him. It can be painful, but it is always for our good, as Hebrews 12:11 tells us, "No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it."
God also reshapes our relationships. He calls us to love others as He has loved us (John 13:34), to forgive as we have been forgiven (Colossians 3:13), and to walk in unity with our brothers and sisters in Christ (Ephesians 4:3). If we find ourselves in conflict or holding onto bitterness, it may be an opportunity for God to teach us humility and grace.
Our faith is another area where God works deeply. He stretches our trust in Him, often leading us through trials that strengthen our reliance on His promises. James 1:2-4 encourages us, "Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing."
Lastly, God reshapes our purpose. He calls us to live for His glory, using the gifts and talents He has given us to serve others and advance His Kingdom. Ephesians 2:10 reminds us, "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them." If we feel restless or uncertain about our direction, it may be God redirecting us toward His plans for us.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, acknowledging that You are the Potter, and we are the clay. We thank You for Your patience and love as You shape and reshape us into the people You created us to be. Lord, we surrender every area of our lives to You, our character, our priorities, our relationships, our faith, and our purpose. Where we have resisted Your work, forgive us, and soften our hearts to receive Your correction.
Father, we ask that You continue to transform us by the renewing of our minds. Help us to seek You first in all things and to trust You even when the path is unclear. Give us the strength to endure trials with joy, knowing that they produce endurance and maturity in our faith. Teach us to love others as You have loved us, to forgive as we have been forgiven, and to walk in unity with our brothers and sisters in Christ.
Lord, we pray for clarity in our purpose. Show us the good works You have prepared for us, and give us the courage to step into them. May our lives bring glory to Your name, and may we always point others to You. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, through whom we have access to You. Amen.
We encourage you to spend time in prayer and reflection, asking God to reveal the areas where He is at work in your life. Trust in His timing and His plans, for He is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6). If there are specific areas where you feel God is reshaping you, bring them before Him in prayer, and seek His wisdom and strength to walk in obedience.
