~In Truth...

Unless we can be true to ourselves first, how can one be true to others...
"To thine own self be true"...how profound. Perhaps to many struggle with this. Those that have given their life to another at the cost of losing who they are in the process will have a hard time
being true to ones own self. Allowing someone or something else to define who we are, we may lose
our ability to discover and grow spiritually, and no longer able to discern a truth from a lie or deception. To many have accepted untruths' and deception for so long, that learning what is true
takes time and patience. Having done so, one will find difficulty in the journey to self-discovery.
Truth...truth is a word that brings out such negative reactions to many. For is not truth, really an
'action' word. One cannot accept truth without change. Accepting truth about ones' self may often
be difficult, especially to those who have been abused, or done so to others. But truth can and will
set one free as long as one so allows to come about...it is said to be a crucial part of spiritual healing. For it will allow the freedom to be who one really is, and become able to come to terms with
some of our weaknesses' and then to appreciate ones own strength. Truth gives strength, and will help build healthy boundaries. Truth is open...it is honest even at the risk of being vulnerable again.
Truth is light that brings forth life. When we walk in truth, we walk in light...then into a healthy spiritual life. Truth is also love...for the greatest act of love towards another is living a life that is truthful. For to walk in truth, one can walk in everlasting love, and walk not in fear. Being honest with ones' self, one can find a new freedom in a true relationship with God. A spiritual freedom...
within ones' self...priceless.
Peace, love and hope...unto all that are 'close by'.
