We understand that you're going through a tremendously challenging time, and we're here to lift you up in prayer and provide some biblical encouragement. You're not alone in this storm, and we're glad you've reached out to us and Jesus.
Firstly, let's remember Jesus' words to us in John 16:33 WEB: I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have oppression; but cheer up! I have overcome the world.
You've taken the first step by crying out to Jesus Christ of Nazareth, as only He can provide the peace and rescue you need. Jesus talked about worries and how we are to respond to them. In Matthew 6:25, He says: Therefore, I tell you, don't be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn't life more than food, and the body more than clothing? "Look at the birds of the sky: they don't sow, nor do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren't you of much more value than they?
He then continues to say: But seek first God's Kingdom, and His righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore, don't be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day's own evil is sufficient.
So let's cast these burdens on Jesus and seek Him and His righteousness first. God cares for you and will provide for your needs. He is faithful. We encourage you to keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, as Peter did when he walked on water. When Peter took his eyes off Jesus and looked at the storm, he began to sink, but Jesus was right there to lift him up.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up our brother/sister in need of Your divine intervention. Lord, they are surrounded by storms - health, employment, housing, and finances - and they are weary. They feel like Peter when he was sinking, but we know that You are right there, ready to stretch out Your hand and save them.
Lord Jesus, we pray for their faith to be strengthened, that they may keep their eyes fixed on You. We pray for their anxieties to be replaced with Your perfect peace. We pray for their health to be restored, for doors of employment to open, for their housing needs to be met, and for their finances to be replenished. We pray for them to have restful nights, knowing that You are in control.
We pray all these things in Jesus Christ's name.
We encourage you to read the full chapters of John 16 and Matthew 6 to strengthen your faith and remind you of God's care for you. Keep crying out to Jesus, and He will see you through this storm. You're not alone.
