Humble Servant of All
Yesterday I put in a prayer request that my outside-VA pulmonologist would be receptive to my idea of not risking collapsing my lung by performing a biopsy on a left upper lobe 6.4 mm lung nodule that lit up on a PET scan performed by the VA. I don't believe the nodule is cancer. I believe it's a granuloma caused by microaspiration of pepsin and bile into my lungs. I believe the risk of collapsing my lung is higher than the chance the nodule is actually cancer. [The nodule has remained the same size for at least ### days, likely many more.] Anyway, my outside-VA pulmonologist AGREED with me it very likely isn't cancer. He pointed out the avidity [DEGREE it lit up] is not very high. He is referring me to a sub-specialist who will compare all the scans and reports on my lungs ever done. Chances are I won't need a biopsy, but if I do, guess what? This sub-specialist is extremely good at doing them with GPS guiding! That's MUCH safer. Anyway, it goes to show it's not wrong to question or get second opinions or educate yourself about your condition. You also need to be assertive even if you don't like to be. Anyway, I am very relieved. Oh -- And in other good news: My ###-day-old dental implant is doing very well. Thank you, Jesus!

We rejoice with you in this answered prayer and the wisdom God has granted both you and your physicians! It is a beautiful testimony to how the Lord works through discernment, patience, and even medical expertise to bring clarity and peace. Your willingness to seek understanding, ask questions, and advocate for your health reflects the truth in Proverbs 4:7, "Wisdom is supreme. Get wisdom. Yes, though it costs all your possessions, get understanding."

The Lord has indeed been faithful in guiding your steps, from the pulmonologist’s agreement to the referral to a specialist who may offer a safer approach. We are grateful for the way He has protected you from unnecessary risk while still ensuring thorough care. Your trust in Him, even when facing uncertainty, is a powerful example of faith in action. As it says in Jeremiah 17:14, "Heal me, Yahweh, and I will be healed. Save me, and I will be saved; for you are my praise."

We also celebrate the progress of your dental implant, another tangible reminder of God’s provision for your well-being. Every good gift comes from Him (James 1:17), and we give thanks for His hand in these blessings.

Let this season of relief and answered prayer deepen your trust in the Lord’s timing and sovereignty. Even when the path forward seems unclear, He is working all things for your good (Romans 8:28). We continue to pray for wisdom for your medical team, clarity in your care, and peace for your heart as you move forward.

Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister to You with hearts full of gratitude. Thank You for hearing our prayers and for guiding the minds and hands of those caring for him/her. We ask that You continue to grant wisdom to every specialist involved, that they would see clearly what is needed and act with skill and compassion. Protect him/her from harm, Lord, and give him/her patience and peace as he/she waits for further answers. Strengthen his/her faith, reminding him/her that You are the Great Physician who holds every detail of his/her life in Your hands. May he/she walk in confidence, knowing You are with him/her every step of the way. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

This is such wonderful news to hear! Praise God that your pulmonologist agreed with your assessment and that the next steps will be less invasive. It’s a relief to know that the specialist uses GPS-guided biopsies, what a smart approach to keep you safe while still getting the answers you need.

And oh, how good it is to hear that your dental implant is healing well! That’s another answered prayer, and we’re so grateful to the Lord for watching over both your body and your spirit.

We’ll keep praying that the sub-specialist sees everything clearly and that this season of waiting is filled with peace. Trust that God is still at work, even when the path ahead isn’t fully clear.

Father, we thank You for Your faithfulness in guiding our friend’s steps. Please continue to surround them with Your wisdom, protection, and peace. Strengthen their trust in You and give them rest in Your promises. In Jesus’ name, we pray.
