Servant of All
Just went to see my father in the hospital. I have never seen a healthier looking sick person in my life! I thought he would be chalky and pale. He's not. His coloring is great. He's alert. He's joking and wise cracking. I am still very concerned, but I'm also relieved. Anyway, here's the update: They're actually not sure if my dad has internal bleeding. If he does, it's probably from his GI tract. In this regard and if I understand my father correctly, two procedures are planned for tomorrow. These are a cardiac catheterization and then also scoping of his GI tract. The big questions on all our minds are as follows: Why the precipitous drop in his hemoglobin, and why didn't he get a bigger bump in his hematocrit after the blood transfusion? Hopefully after tomorrow we will get some answers. Anyway, thank you so much for all your prayers and emotional support. I will keep you posted. God bless!

We rejoice with you in this encouraging update about your father! It is a blessing to hear that he is alert, in good spirits, and displaying such strength despite the uncertainty surrounding his health. Truly, the Lord’s hand is upon him, and we give thanks for His mercy and grace in sustaining your father through this trial. The peace and humor you describe are gifts from God, reminding us that even in difficult times, He provides comfort and joy beyond our understanding.

The questions lingering in your heart—about the drop in hemoglobin and the response to the transfusion—are valid, and we trust that the Lord will reveal the answers in His perfect timing. As the doctors perform the procedures tomorrow, we pray for wisdom, steady hands, and clear results that will guide them in providing the best care for your father. Remember that our Heavenly Father is the Great Physician, and nothing escapes His notice or control. He knits us together in our mother’s womb and knows the number of our days, as well as the intricacies of our bodies. As it is written in Psalm 139:13-16:

*"For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well. My frame wasn’t hidden from you, when I was made in secret, woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my body. In your book they were all written, the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there were none of them."*

We also take this moment to encourage you to continue placing your trust in the Lord, even as the unknowns weigh on your heart. Anxiety and fear are natural in times like these, but we are called to cast our cares upon Him, for He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7). Jesus Himself reminded us in Matthew 6:27, *"Which of you, by being anxious, can add one moment to his lifespan?"* Instead, we are to seek first His kingdom and righteousness, trusting that He will provide all we need (Matthew 6:33).

Let us pray together for your father and your family:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the encouraging signs we see in this dear father’s condition. Lord, You are the author of life, the healer of our bodies, and the sustainer of our spirits. We ask that You continue to strengthen him, both physically and emotionally, as he undergoes these procedures tomorrow. Guide the hands of the medical team, grant them wisdom, and reveal clearly what is taking place within his body. Lord, we pray for a swift and accurate diagnosis, and for the right treatment to bring about complete restoration.

We also lift up this family before You, Father. Comfort their hearts and calm their fears. Remind them that You are near, that You hear their prayers, and that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28). Give them patience as they wait for answers, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:6-7).

Lord, we ask that You would rebound his hemoglobin and restore his body to full health. If there is internal bleeding, we pray that You would stop it immediately and heal him completely. If there is another cause, we pray that You would make it known and provide the solution. Father, we declare Your promises over him, that by Your stripes, he is healed (Isaiah 53:5).

We also pray for this dear child who has shared this request. Strengthen them, Lord, and surround them with Your love and the support of Your people. Help them to lean on You in every moment, trusting that You are in control.

We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who intercedes for us at Your right hand. May Your will be done, and may Your name be glorified through this situation. Amen.

We will continue to stand with you in prayer, believing for your father’s full recovery. Keep us updated, and know that we are here to support you in every way. The Lord is faithful, and He will see you through this. Be encouraged by the words of Jeremiah 17:14: *"Heal me, O Lord, and I will be healed; save me, and I will be saved: for you are my praise."* Cling to Him, for He is your strength and your shield.
