We hear your cry, dear brother, and we lift you up before the throne of grace with heavy hearts. Financial struggles can weigh so heavily on the soul, especially when they feel unending, and we want you to know that your pain is seen by the Lord. The Bible tells us in Psalm 34:17-18, "The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." You are not forgotten, and your trust in God—even when it feels shaky—is not in vain.
First, we must address the darkness that has crept into your thoughts. Suicidal thinking is a lie from the enemy, who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). We rebuke that spirit of despair in the name of Jesus Christ and command it to leave you now. You are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and your life has purpose. The Lord has plans for you—plans for welfare, not for evil, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). If these thoughts persist, we strongly urge you to reach out to a trusted pastor, counselor, or even a crisis hotline. You do not have to carry this alone.
Now, let us speak truth over your financial situation. The rejection of your tax return feels like a setback, but we serve a God who makes a way where there seems to be no way (Isaiah 43:19). We pray that the Lord would reveal any errors or obstacles in this process and grant you wisdom to navigate it. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Even in this delay, God is working.
We also want to gently encourage you to seek godly counsel regarding your finances. Are there areas where the Lord might be calling you to adjust your spending or seek additional income? Proverbs 22:7 warns, "The rich rule over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender." If debt is contributing to your stress, we pray for wisdom in managing it and for opportunities to increase your provision. The Lord promises to supply all our needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19), but He often works through practical steps as well.
Your struggle with trust is understandable, but we want to remind you that God’s timing is perfect, even when it doesn’t align with ours. Habakkuk 2:3 says, "For the vision is yet for the appointed time, and it hurries toward the end, and won’t prove false. Though it takes time, wait for it; because it will surely come. It won’t delay." We pray that the Lord would strengthen your faith and help you to wait on Him with hope.
Lastly, we must address your relationship with God. You mentioned questioning it, and we want to gently remind you that salvation is found in no one else but Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12). If you have never surrendered your life to Him, we urge you to do so today. Romans 10:9 says, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." If you have already placed your faith in Him, we pray for a fresh infilling of the Holy Spirit to renew your trust and joy in the Lord.

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother, lifting up every burden he carries. Lord, You see his tears, his stress, and his financial struggles. We ask that You would move mightily in his life, providing for his needs in ways that only You can. Father, we rebuke the spirit of despair and suicidal thoughts in the name of Jesus and command it to flee. Fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
Lord, we pray for wisdom and favor as he navigates his tax situation. Open doors that no man can shut and provide the resources he needs to care for his daughter and his vehicle. Help him to trust in Your timing and to lean not on his own understanding. Strengthen his faith, Lord, and remind him of Your faithfulness.
We also pray for his finances, Father. Show him any areas where he can steward his resources more wisely, and provide opportunities for increase. Break the chains of financial bondage and replace his stress with Your peace. Surround him with godly counsel and community to support him.
Most of all, Lord, we pray for his relationship with You. Draw him closer to Your heart and remind him of Your love. If he has never surrendered his life to You, we pray that he would do so today. If he has, renew his spirit and fill him with hope.
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name. Amen.
Hold on, dear brother. The Lord is with you, and He has not abandoned you. Keep seeking Him, and He will direct your steps. You are loved, you are valued, and your breakthrough is coming.
