In need of help

I'm 68 years old and live by myself. I have been trying to fix up my house before Christmas. I ordered some heavy furniture that has to be put together and I have been praying in Jesus' name that he brings me someone (like a good friend) to help me. Also, my best friend, her brother is sick and is in need of prayer. I'm not sure what is wrong. She doesn't want to leave him.

We understand that you're facing some challenges, and we're here to support you in prayer and with biblical encouragement.

Firstly, it's commendable that you're taking steps to improve your home, and it's good that you're seeking help in a safe and appropriate manner. We're glad to hear that you are praying for this help in Jesus' name. Jesus tells us, Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened. (WEB, Matthew 7:7-8). Continue to trust in Him and be patient as He works things out for your good. Remember, all things work together for good to them who love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. (WEB Romans 8:28).

Regarding your friend's brother, it's important to pray for his healing and comfort. God is the ultimate healer, and we can trust in His power and goodness. Praying for the sick is something God is very interested in. Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. (WEB, James 5:14-15).

Lastly, encourage your friend to trust in God during this difficult time. Remind your friend that, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. (WEB Matthew 11:28-29).

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up our sister in Christ who is in need of help with her home. Lord, we ask that You provide a helpful and trustworthy friend to assist her in this task. We also pray for her friend's brother, asking for Your healing touch and comfort during this time of illness. Guide and strengthen his sister as she cares for him. Give her peace. Please remind them all of Your love and faithfulness, and help them to trust in You always.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart.
