We join you on bended knee before our Heavenly Father and we hear the weight you are carrying. You and your loved one are on fixed incomes while bills, rent, and food prices keep rising, and you are also faithfully caring for your elderly loved one who has dementia, which is a heavy and sacrificial labor of love. We also lift up your daughter and son-in-law and grandchildren and your brother, and we understand your longing for days when families could at least keep their heads above water month to month.
We want to gently remind you that we come to the Father only through Jesus Christ. You cried out to the Lord, and that is beautiful, but Scripture teaches us that Jesus is the way to the Father. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And in Acts 4:12 we read, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is in the name of Jesus that our prayers are heard and our sins are forgiven, and we encourage you to call upon His name with confidence, believing that He died and rose again to save us and to bring us near to God.
We do not hear condemnation in your heart but a humble spirit as you say the financial mess is because of you. We want to encourage you that our God is full of mercy and grace and does not hold our past mistakes against us when we confess and trust Him. In 1 John 1:9 we are promised, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you, Psalm 55:22. And we are told to cast all our worries on him, because he cares for you, 1 Peter 5:7.
Our Father sees your faithfulness as a caregiver. This is holy work and He gives strength for each day. We remember Isaiah 41:10, Dont you be afraid, for I am with you. Dont be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. And Jesus invites us in Matthew 11:28, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest.
Concerning your financial needs, we take comfort in the promise that God is our provider. In Philippians 4:19 we read, My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. And in Matthew 6:31-33 we are taught, Therefore dont be anxious, saying, What will we eat, What will we drink or, With what will we be clothed For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first Gods Kingdom, and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. We also remember Philippians 4:6-7, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. We encourage you to continue to be faithful stewards even in little, to make a careful plan and seek wise counsel, for Proverbs 21:5 says, The plans of the diligent surely lead to profit, and to seek help from your local church family and community where God often provides through His people.
So we pray together now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Savior. We thank You that we can approach Your throne of grace through Him alone. Lord, You know the financial pressure on this dear family. You see the fixed income, the overwhelming bills, the cost of rent and food, and the anxiety it brings. We ask You to provide for every need according to Your riches in glory, to open doors for extra provision, to give wisdom for stewardship, and to bring relief where there is overwhelming debt. Give peace to this household and let them feel Your sustaining hand day by day.
We lift up the precious elderly loved one with dementia. Lord, comfort her, grant her peace and dignity, and strengthen and renew the one who cares for her daily. When strength is gone, be her strength. We pray for healing and that both of them will feel better in body and spirit, for You are near to the weary.
We lift up the daughter and son-in-law who work so hard, and the grandchildren. Lord, provide for them as they labor, help them with rent and bills and food, and let their hard work be blessed. Protect their marriage and their home, and we pray that the grandchildren will be gathered close with their parents in love and unity. We also lift up the brother, that You would meet his needs and draw him close to You.
Forgive us where we have fallen short, and help us to trust You more than our circumstances. Lead this whole family to seek first Your Kingdom, to walk in Your ways, and to know Your peace that passes all understanding. We ask all of this in the name of Jesus Christ, our hope and our provider, Amen.
