Please pray for our family. We are in need of a miracle. In May 2017 we sold our big beautiful home that was in excellent condition to downsize for two reasons: to do the wise thing financially and take steps to becoming mortgage free sooner, and to have a good size yard to set up a homeschool playground. Within three days after closing, we discovered that the sellers and agent failed to disclose and even concealed that the entire backyard was severely infested with giant timber bamboo that had spread and established itself for about ten years. The roots were running very thick, very dense, very compact that you could not break through the soil, and it was from and to every corner of the yard and under the foundation, under the air conditioner, under the concrete. We had to have the yard deeply excavated to just then control and maintain it a bit, not get rid of it 100%. We now have to stay on top of it and spray it and dig it out to keep it from getting infested again, and there are very established roots under the concrete and foundation that we could not get to and sprouts out from under the house and concrete slabs. Since there are disclosure laws in California, we hired an attorney and even went through mediation, but the sellers, agent, and broker ignored all of our demands and requests to agree or settle on something. We ended up spending over $20,000 on attorney fees just to be ignored. Our attorney tells us that the only option at this point is to go forward with a civil lawsuit, but tells us that can cost $40-60,000 and drag on 2-3 years with no guarantee. I believe there is another option, and that is a miracle. Please pray that somehow, someway, the sellers will agree to settle without us having to file a lawsuit and spend thousands more. We only have two years to file a lawsuit, which would be June 2019. But we really don't want to go that route and don't have the money to. Out of desperation, I started contacting news stations with our story. One news station was intrigued and did a story, but that was five weeks ago, and the last thing I heard from them was that they are working on it. Please pray that something good and favorable will come out and result from that story. Pray that it will turn out good. I was so uncomfortable and tense and had a hard time hearing the questions. Not something I wanted to do or felt comfortable doing. Please pray I don't look or appear awkward or tense. I don't want to feel embarrassed on top of everything else.
