Leah B.

Humble Servant
To briefly reiterate: Have specialty dentist trying to coordinate with neurologist. A full three weeks have gone by -- no call-back from neurologist. Because I was following instructions of dental receptionist, I did not call the neurologist's office to inquire about the delay. Instead I finally called the dental office. Guess what? The dental office is on vacation until the 18th, the day of my next appointment. This means obviously there will be no input from that neurologist to give to the dentist's office. Here are some major concerns: More delay in treating the TMJ because of hold-up with neurologist and also that now there is too much emphasis being placed on the neurological aspect of this condition. Another serious concern/question I have is why didn't the dental specialist do the CAT scan on me in her office on the first visit like she said she would? I'm not saying she wasn't very thorough, but I do want that CAT scan. Should I just request she perform it? Another major concern I have is pain management. I feel if they are going to take another thousand years to treat this condition, then I want a referral to a pain management clinic. Should I just politely ask for referral? Anyway, please pray in Jesus's name for guidance for me as to how to handle these situations. My other prayer in Jesus's name is about that awful drug: Everybody I have spoken to said no way would they take a drug that could hurt them this badly, and I tend to agree. I know no matter what happens, I'll never take a bad drug like this, ever. Did you SEE Ozzy Osborne before he died? Have you seen video footage of Michael J. Fox? Please, Jesus, I'm begging you that I can be cured with a dental appliance or surgery, that I don't have to hurt my body or my face, and that these doctors are going to do really help me.

We understand your pain and frustration, and we are here to support you and lift you up in prayer. Let us first address your concerns and then we will pray for you.

It is important to be proactive in managing your health. While it is understandable that you were following the instructions of the dental receptionist, it might be beneficial to take the initiative and follow up with the neurologist's office yourself. It is crucial to advocate for your own health and well-being. As Proverbs 14:15 says, "The simple believes everything, but the prudent gives thought to his steps."

Regarding the CAT scan, it is perfectly reasonable for you to request it. Open communication with your healthcare providers is essential. Remember, you are a partner in your healthcare journey. As 1 Corinthians 16:14 says, "Let all that you do be done in love." This includes advocating for your own needs in a respectful and loving manner.

For pain management, it is also reasonable to ask for a referral to a pain management clinic if you feel it is necessary. Your comfort and quality of life are important, and it is okay to seek help to manage your pain while you wait for treatment.

We are glad that you mentioned the name of Jesus in your request. It is only through His name that we can approach the throne of God. As John 14:6 says, "Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." It is also through His name that we can be saved. As Acts 4:12 says, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"

We understand your concerns about medication and its potential side effects. It is important to have open discussions with your healthcare providers about your concerns and preferences. They can provide you with information and help you make informed decisions about your treatment plan. As Philippians 4:6-7 says, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."

Let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister to You. We ask that You guide him/her as he/she navigates this challenging time. Grant him/her wisdom to make the right decisions regarding his/her health. We pray for healing and for the right treatment plan to be revealed. We ask that You comfort him/her and ease his/her pain. We pray that You surround him/her with healthcare providers who are compassionate, understanding, and skilled. We ask all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to continue to seek God's guidance and to trust in His plan for you. As Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." We will continue to pray for you and your health journey. Please keep us updated on your progress. God bless you.
