I had this request before, but no wanted results given. I'm caught up in a whirlwind of activity, things to take care of, situations to deal with, my own stuff and other I know with situations, things that pop up at times when I thought would be a quiet time, stealing my time away. Unending. Every day I hope for a quiet time, but it doesn't turn out that way. So once again, for the whirlwind to die down. The other thing is, as I try to catch up, more things pop up, so I'm never caught. Bad cycle.

We hear the weariness in your heart, dear one, and we understand how overwhelming this season of relentless busyness has become for you. The enemy loves to keep God’s children spinning in chaos, stealing their peace, their time with the Lord, and their ability to rest in His presence. But let us remind you—this is not the life Jesus calls you to. He invites you to come to Him when you are weary and burdened, promising rest for your soul (Matthew 11:28). The fact that you keep seeking quiet time, even when it’s interrupted, shows your heart’s desire for Him—and that is precious in His sight.

The cycle you describe—where you’re always catching up but never caught up—is not of God. It’s a tactic to keep you from the very Source of strength you need. The Lord never intended for you to live in a state of perpetual exhaustion. Even Jesus, in His earthly ministry, withdrew to lonely places to pray (Luke 5:16). If the Son of God needed time away from the demands of life to commune with the Father, how much more do we?

Let us address something important: you mentioned that you had this request before but saw no "wanted results." We gently remind you that God’s ways are not our ways, and His timing is perfect (Isaiah 55:8-9). Sometimes, the Lord allows these seasons of busyness to refine us, to teach us dependence on Him, or to prepare us for what’s ahead. Other times, He is waiting for us to surrender our schedules, our plans, and our need for control so He can realign our steps. Have you asked Him what He might be teaching you in this? Or have you simply asked for the whirlwind to stop without seeking His will in it?

We also encourage you to examine whether some of these demands are truly from the Lord or if they are distractions—even good things that are not *God things* for this season. Not every obligation is an assignment from Him. The apostle Paul warns us not to be "conformed to this world," but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:2). Sometimes, that means saying no to things—even good things—so we can say yes to what God has called us to in this moment.

Now, let’s turn to Scripture for wisdom. Jesus says in Matthew 6:33, *"But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* When we prioritize our time with Him, He orders our steps and our days. Psalm 37:23 tells us, *"A man’s goings are established by Yahweh. He delights in his way."* And in Psalm 46:10, He commands, *"Be still, and know that I am God."* Stillness is not just physical; it’s a posture of the heart, trusting that He is sovereign over the chaos.

Let us also consider Ecclesiastes 3:1: *"For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven."* If you are in a season of overwhelming activity, ask the Lord to show you how to navigate it *with* Him, not just to remove it. Perhaps He is teaching you to rely on His strength (Philippians 4:13) or to trust Him with the things you cannot control.

Before we pray, we must ask: where is Jesus in your request? You’ve shared your weariness and your longing for quiet, but we don’t see His name lifted up as your hope and your help. There is no other name by which we can approach the throne of God (John 14:6, Acts 4:12). If you’ve not yet surrendered this whirlwind to *Jesus*, then you’re trying to fight this battle in your own strength. But He is the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6), and He alone can calm the storm—whether that’s the storm around you or the storm within you.

If you don’t know Jesus as your Savior, then no amount of quiet time will bring you true rest. Peace comes from knowing Him, from being reconciled to God through His sacrifice on the cross. Romans 10:9 tells us, *"that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."* If you’ve never done that, we urge you to turn to Him now. If you have, then it’s time to surrender this whirlwind to Him anew, trusting that He is working even in the chaos.

---
Let us pray together for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister to You, knowing that You see their weariness and their longing for rest. Lord, You are the God who parts the Red Sea, who calms the raging storms, and who orders the steps of Your children. We ask that You would intervene in this whirlwind of activity that has stolen their peace and their time with You.

Father, reveal to them what is of You and what is not. Give them wisdom to discern the things they must do from the things they can release. Teach them to seek first Your Kingdom, trusting that You will provide all they need. Break the cycle of busyness that has kept them from resting in Your presence.

We rebuke the spirit of chaos and distraction that has sought to keep them spinning. In the name of Jesus, we command it to cease. Lord, replace it with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Help them to be still and know that You are God, even in the midst of the storm.

If there is sin in their life—whether it’s the sin of self-reliance, fear, or idolatry of productivity—convict them and lead them to repentance. Cleanse them, Lord, and renew their heart and mind.

We pray that You would remind them of Your promise in Matthew 11:28-30: *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."* Let them experience that rest, Lord.

Give them the courage to say no when necessary, to delegate when possible, and to trust You with the outcomes. Help them to carve out time with You, even if it’s just a few minutes of surrender each day. Multiply that time, Lord, and let it be a wellspring of strength for them.

Finally, Father, we ask that You would reveal Yourself to them in this season. Let them see Your hand at work, even in the chaos. Remind them that You are not a God of disorder but of peace (1 Corinthians 14:33). Bring them into alignment with Your will, and let them walk in the confidence that You are sovereign over every detail of their life.

We pray all this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Hey there,

We're right there with you, feeling the whirlwind too. It's like we're all in this together, isn't it? Sometimes it feels like we're just trying to keep our heads above water, one wave at a time.

But you know what? Jesus promised us rest. Remember when He said, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest"? That's not just a nice suggestion, it's an invitation. He's saying, "Hey, come hang out with me. Let's chat. Let me carry some of that load for you."

So, let's try something. Let's take a deep breath together, and let's ask Jesus to help us see where He is in all this. Because He's there, you know. Even in the chaos, He's right there with us.

Let's pray together, okay? "Jesus, we're feeling overwhelmed right now. We're tired, and we're struggling to keep up. But we trust You. We believe that You're with us, and that You care about every detail of our lives. So, we ask You to help us find rest in You. Help us to see where You're working, and how we can join You in it. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Let's keep trusting Him, one step at a time. We're in this together, friend.
