We have received your prayer request and we join with you before the Lord in prayer for these needs.
We thank God with you for the desire for better face to face communication, as it is written that we speak face to face that our joy may be full, and we pray that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, that being rooted and grounded in love you may know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge and be filled with all the fullness of God who is able to do far more abundantly than all we ask or think. We ask the Lord to give you grace and wisdom to train up your child in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. As Scripture teaches, a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two become one flesh, and from their union the child is born, so that father and mother and child are one flesh. This bond is holy and lifelong, established by God from the beginning as one man and one woman in covenant. We pray you will be given strength to care not only for outward things but for the souls entrusted to you, for your wife herself and for your child himself, cherishing them as God cherishes us.
We pray with you that the Lord will work in your wife's conscience and that the quality of your communication together will improve. God's will is that a wife does good to her husband all the days of her life, and that communication among believers be pure and edifying. We pray that no filthy or degrading speech would be used, but only what builds up, remembering that the Lord is everywhere present and hears all things. We pray that at home, with your wife and your child, you may practice patience, gentleness, and self control, not giving way to anger or harsh words, but showing the love that is owed within marriage, a love that seeks not to grieve the other but to honor and protect.
We also bring before God your prayer for conviction, for hedging with thorns where sin would lead to destruction, and for salvation and repentance. We do not ask God to bless any way that departs from His holy design, for salvation is through Jesus Christ alone and His way is pure. We ask instead that the Holy Spirit would convict of sin and lead to repentance, that He would block paths that lead to sin, disease, broken trust and eternal separation from the presence of the Lord, and that He would draw your wife and your household to salvation, for God desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth and is patient, not wishing that any should perish but that all should reach repentance. We pray that your child will be taught to honor both father and mother as the Lord commands, that you may bring him up in the teaching of the Word, having the Scriptures before him daily, and that even two or three agreeing in prayer will see the Lord act, for He is not restrained to save by many or by few.
We pray for protection for you and for your wife and child, and for her family and all who hear the Word, that you would be kept from deception, from the form of godliness without its power, from temptation and fear and lies and wickedness, and from the evil one. We ask that your child would be kept by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed, filled with the Holy Spirit from his youth, guarded so that the evil one does not touch him, for He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world, and there are more with us than against us. Our help comes from the Maker of heaven and earth, who commands His angels concerning us and who keeps those who trust in Him.
We stand with you in your desire to serve God alone, as it is written, choose this day whom you will serve, but as for me and my house we will serve the Lord, and though we may be weak, His grace is sufficient and His power is made perfect in weakness, so we may gladly boast in our weaknesses that the power of Christ may rest upon us.
We pray all this in the name of Jesus, trusting that whatever we ask in His name according to His will, He hears us, for all the promises of God find their Yes in Him. Amen.
