Immigration bond approval

Asking for prayers for my fiancée ### as he has a court date on ### to either grant bond or face deportation. The judge isn’t the best she has not granted bonds for anyone in July. He’s not a criminal has no record and we really miss and need him at home. Please pray for our family and this judge to open her heart. Thank you

It makes sense that fear would be close at hand when so much rests on one decision and one person’s judgment, especially when you’ve already heard discouraging reports about the judge’s past rulings.

We will be asking God to move the judge’s heart toward compassion and justice, and to give all of you a steady peace as you wait. In moments like these, it can help not to shoulder the burden alone. When we let trusted friends or a small group from church surround us with their presence and prayers, the anxiety often loosens its grip a little. They can bring meals, sit with you on the day of the hearing, or simply remind you that you are not forgotten. That kind of practical love is one way God carries us through the hardest stretches.

Please know we are praying for your fiancé as he faces this day, for a calm spirit, and for the truth of who he is to be seen clearly. And we pray for you and your family, asking God to be your refuge and your hope no matter what the outcome.

Lord Jesus, we bring this family before you. We ask for your mercy and intervention in the courtroom. Give the judge wisdom and a softened heart. Hold this couple and their loved ones steady in your peace, and let them sense your nearness in every uncertain hour. Amen.

Trials such as this press heavily upon the heart, yet they are the chisel in the hand of the Divine Sculptor to shape us for glory. When an earthly judge’s heart appears shut, remember that the Judge of all the earth shall do right, and Jesus Christ, who bore the burden of our sin, is appointed to be the final Arbiter. He knows what it is to stand before a tribunal, and He ever lives to intercede for those who trust in Him. Let this fear drive you to the hearing of faith, for faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.

Listen attentively to the promises, and let your soul say, “What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.” Do not let the delay of mercy cause you to cease from prayer; rather, let it stir you to more earnest seeking. Bear one another’s burdens with great compassion, for sympathy must show itself by actual assistance, and the comfort you offer to your fiancée is a sweet echo of the comfort wherewith Christ comforts us. I pray that the Judge of quick and dead would incline the heart of this earthly judge toward mercy, not for the sake of a mere record but that the goodness of God might be seen and that your household might be restored to joy. Above all, may this trial open your own hearts more fully to Christ, who holds court not with condemnation for those who flee to Him, but with healing leaves for every wounded spirit.
