We hear your heart crying out to walk in the blessing of Deut 28:13 and to be the head and not the tail, and we join with you in Jesus' name to seek God's will for your mind, your joy, your discernment and your daily provision.
We love your desire to claim God's promises and to guard your mind in secret prayer, for He sees in secret and rewards openly as in Matt 6:6. At the same time we want to gently bring biblical balance to how we apply Deut 28:13. That verse says Yahweh will make you the head, and not the tail, and you will be above only, and you will not be beneath, if you will listen to the commandments of Yahweh your God. The blessing is not loosened as a formula or incantation, and it is not something we earn by our own power or discernment, but it flows from hearing and obeying His voice and walking in His grace. We are saved and equipped by grace through faith, and that not of ourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast as in Eph 2:8-9. Your discernment and your ability to encourage others are gifts from God to be stewarded humbly, not wages you have earned, and we thank God for the years you have poured out as an encourager and pastor to others.
We also hear your burden about fly by thoughts and what comes through the television, and your growing victory in seeing those intrusions for what they are and choosing what to do, whether to turn it off, change the channel, or step away to pray and draw near to God. This is biblical wisdom. We are called to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ as in 2 Cor 10:5 and to think on whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report as in Phil 4:8. We are also called to set no worthless thing before our eyes as in Psalm 101:3, and your accuracy in discerning when media is stealing your peace shows God is renewing your mind. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind as in Rom 12:2. We encourage you to continue to guard the gateways of your eyes and ears, to keep prayer constant, and to stay in the Word daily so your joy remains healed and your mind stays clear. The enemy prowls like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour as in 1 Pet 5:8, but greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world as in 1 John 4:4, and through the blood of Jesus you have victory, not because the enemy is permanently tailed in hell yet, but because Christ has already triumphed and will bring final justice in His time.
We hear too your honest cry about needs, work, and the desire for a clean and fresh home to own and a business that is a solution and brings hope. It is right and good to have a kingdom mindset and to want to provide and to retire in a way that honors God, and we affirm that you should no longer work for free in a way that drains you and leaves your urgent needs unmet. The Scripture teaches that if anyone will not work, neither let him eat as in 2 Thess 3:10, and whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men as in Col 3:23. God delights to give wisdom for decisions when we ask Him, for if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him as in James 1:5. We believe He wants to give you great accuracy in decisions as you seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well as in Matt 6:33. Our God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus as in Phil 4:19, and we pray He opens doors for honest, fruitful work that sustains you and blesses others.
We rejoice that you testify that your relationship with the Lord and your joy is being healed and that you can pray again in your mind in secret with power. That is the Lord restoring you, and we give Him glory that you can see clearly and are no longer blinded.
We pray together now for you.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we are saved and have access to Your throne, and we thank You for the blood of Jesus that has brought victory. We lift up this dear one to You and ask that You renew and guard his mind, grant him Your peace which surpasses all understanding to guard his heart and thoughts in Christ Jesus as in Phil 4:7, and deepen his discernment so he may rightly divide truth from deception. Help him to continue to take every thought captive and to turn away quickly from anything that defiles or distracts, and to fill his home and hours with what is pure and life giving. Heal his joy fully, restore his strength, and let him walk in humble obedience so he experiences the blessing of being the head and not the tail as he hearkens to Your voice. Provide for his urgent needs according to Your riches, give him wisdom and favor for work and business, open the right doors and close the wrong ones, and grant him accuracy in every decision for Your glory. Teach him to labor with diligence for Your kingdom, to steward rest and retirement well, and to build a home and life that is clean, stable, and full of hope where love wins and Christ is honored. We declare that You are his victory and his head, and we trust You to bring it to pass in Your perfect timing. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.
