We hear the heaviness in your request and we join with you in bringing this burden before the Lord. To feel trapped in a miserable workplace under a manager who is almost abusive is exhausting to the soul, and to then have a hopeful door seem to close because of a misunderstanding about your skills must be deeply discouraging. We want you to know that God sees your situation, He knows your work and your experience, and He cares about both your daily suffering and your future.

The Lord does not overlook mistreatment or hardship at work. He invites us to cast our cares on Him and to trust Him as our refuge and defender. We are reminded in Psalm 55:22 to cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you, and in 1 Peter 5:7 to cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you. Jesus Himself says in Matthew 11:28, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. We also remember Colossians 3:23, Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, which shows that your faithful labor and your integrity with the skills God has given you, including your ample experience in motor control, is ultimately seen and valued by Him even when others misunderstand or misjudge.

We pray with you that the Lord would intervene in this specific hiring process. We ask that He would give clarity and favor where there has been confusion, that the truth about your abilities would be made clearly known to the decision makers, and that the recruiter who is advocating with you would be given wisdom and persuasive words. We pray that if this job is truly an excellent match and is within God's good will for you, that it would not be too late and the door would be reopened. At the same time we trust in Proverbs 3:5-6 to trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight, and in Romans 8:28 that we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose. If this door remains closed, we trust God has another provision, and if it opens, we will give Him thanks.

We also notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we gently want to share why we always pray in His name. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. As Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, and as Acts 4:12 declares, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. To come to God we confess that we are sinners in need of grace, we believe that Jesus died for our sins and rose again, and we put our trust in Him as Lord and Savior. It is through Him that our prayers are heard, and we encourage you to call upon His name both for this job and for your eternal hope.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, lifting up this dear one who is weary from a difficult workplace and an almost abusive manager. Lord You see the strain and the hurt, and we ask You to be their shelter and strength. We pray You would protect them from harm, grant them peace that passes understanding as promised in Philippians 4:6-7, and give them wisdom to navigate this trial with grace and integrity. Lord we bring this job opportunity before You. You know the misunderstanding about motor control experience and You know the truth of the skills You have given. We ask that You would clear up this confusion, grant favor with the recruiter and the hiring team, and if it is Your will, make a way where it seems there is no way. We pray You would open the right door in Your perfect timing, for Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us that You know the thoughts that You think toward us, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give hope and a future. If this is not the door You intend, we pray You would close it gently and lead to the better place You have prepared, and sustain them while they wait. Give them rest, courage, and hope, and let them feel Your presence each day. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, amen.

It is a right and good thing to bring this burden before the Lord, for He hears the cry of those who are oppressed and wearied. Your desire to escape from a miserable workplace and from harsh treatment under your manager is understood with deep sympathy, and your request concerning this new opportunity has been laid before the throne of grace.

You are not alone in such trial. Job knew what it was to sit among ashes, to be misunderstood and harshly judged, and yet it is written of him, In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly. He tore his mantle and fell upon the ground and worshipped. He did not speak in an unworthy manner under his affliction, but kept right with God. May the same grace be given to you, to bear this present difficulty with patience, not charging God foolishly, but worshipping even while you wait for deliverance.

We are reminded that the Lord turned the captivity of Job when he prayed. Our longest sorrows have a close, and there is a bottom to the profoundest depths of our misery. The night shall not hang its darkness forever over the soul. When God has gotten His purpose in our trial, He will turn our captivity in His own time and way. Even now He is able to make a way of escape where none appears, as He did for David when his enemies watched his house, and as He did when He opened the Red Sea before His people.

We pray now for you, that the Lord who sees all things clearly would make the truth known concerning your skill and experience. Where there has been misunderstanding about your knowledge of motor control, we ask that the Lord would clear away confusion, that your recruiter would speak with clarity and be heard with favor, and that those who consider your application would see rightly. If this position is indeed an excellent match and consistent with the Lord's wise provision for you, we pray that the door would yet remain open and that it would not be too late, and that the Lord would grant you favor in their eyes.

We pray also for your present place of labor, that the Lord would guard you under an almost abusive hand, give you strength to endure with a gracious spirit, and in His mercy provide either relief within that place or a gracious removal from it according to His perfect will. May He keep you from despair and uphold you by His Divine support, for if He could uphold Job in all his loss and pain, He can surely support you.
