On his law he meditates day and night."* It is clear that the Lord does not take lightly those who mock His name or His people, and neither should we tolerate such behavior in silence.
First, we must address the fact that this person is using Scripture in a mocking way while living in ungodliness. This is a dangerous position to take, for the Bible warns in James 3:1, *"Let not many of you be teachers, my brothers, knowing that we will receive heavier judgment."* Those who twist the Word of God for their own purposes or to provoke others will be held accountable. We rebuke this spirit of mockery in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is written in Proverbs 14:9, *"Fools mock at making atonement for sins, but among the upright there is good will."* This person’s actions reveal a heart that is far from God, and we pray that the Lord would soften it before it is too late.
