I've reached a painful realization today. My son is estranged. I have prayed and prayed and cried and cried for him. Despite all that my husband and I try to do for him, he rejects our love (but is quick to ask for our financial help). He is an adult. He's had some unfortunate life situations but he has a family that loves him, the best education that our money could buy, but he seems determined to ruin his life. He's an adult. I'm tired. I love him with all my heart. He calls me names and cusses me out. He has never been diagnosed with mental illness, but I wonder if he has some. He lives in another town but has ruined his credit. We can't help him anymore. So sad to just have to step back and watch him hit rock bottom. I feel like that's our only choice. We're ready to love him, but exhausted trying to help someone who is not interested in being helped, until he needs money. Prayers appreciated.
