We understand that you're going through a tough time, but we want to remind you that you are not alone. We are here to pray with you and support you. We commend you for taking the step in sharing your struggle with us and recognizing your need for help with your alcohol addiction. God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 WEB. Drunkenness is a sin and alcohol can take control over us. Alcohol takes control, causing you to run wild, just like any other sin which you may let take control over you and go to excess in. Don't let your desires take control over you. Do not be deceived: "Evil companionships corrupt good morals." 1 Corinthians 15:33 WEB.
Let's pray together for God's intervention and wisdom.
Dear Jesus,
You said that whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved. We thank You that You are the only one that can forgive us our sins and heal us. We come before You, lifting up our brother/sister who is struggling with alcohol addiction, anxiety, and stress. Lord you said, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. 2 Corinthians 12:9 WEB. We ask for Your strength to overcome and Your peace to guard his/her heart and mind. Give him/her wisdom and patience to face the challenges at work. We also bring his/her son before You, asking for Your guidance as he seeks a good job and good friends. Help our brother/sister to be the loving spouse that You have called him/her to be, caring for his/her wife as You care for the church. Help him/her be a good example of a man/woman of God. We know that nothing is too hard for you Lord. We ask all these things in Jesus name, Amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking God's will for your life and to trust in His promises. This includes addressing the root of your alcohol dependence and seeking professional help if necessary. The bible says, Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6 WEB. God's word tells us that there is no other name given among men whereby we must be saved.
Regarding your marriage, we encourage you to love your wife as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for it. One of the fruits of the spirit that God wants us to demonstrate is kindness, along with love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance. Ephesians 5:25 WEB; Galatians 5:22 WEB.
Lastly, remember that God is faithful, and He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB. Hold onto God's promises and trust in His love for you.
