I'm really sorry to hear that you're feeling this

Beloved of All
I have felt this way for such a long time. I can't see things ever improving. I want out, but I am too chicken to do it myself for fear of disabling myself if unsuccessful. I don't want to be disabled; I want to be GONE. To somewhere without pain or fear or sorrow. Or to nothingness.

The world is so broken. Greed is the biggest problem (love of money is the root of all evil). Wish there was no greed, no envy, no wrath/revenge, no sloth, no gluttony. Just barely enough pride spread over the human population so people are interested in doing a good job at their jobs whatever their jobs are. Just barely enough lust spread over the ADULT human population so the human population doesn't die out (only consenting adults, where consent exists through the entire encounter; NO kids, NO rape, NO animals, NO incest); participating consenting adults doing what is needed to protect their health and the health of others and prevent unintended consequences and honoring their commitments. Eliminate addiction and prejudice and discrimination and human on human violence (other than what is required for medical & dental care). Reduce gun violence by reducing the number of guns designed for military use (ex. shoot lots of bullets very quickly to kill as many people as possible) through buy back programs and/or requiring that those particular guns be kept at very secure facilities where the owners can visit, handle, shoot those guns within the secure facilities. More empathy, compassion, respect and tolerance (tolerance is a low bar - acceptance would be better). Less fear of others unlike ourselves. More compromise. Eliminate lies other than little white lies intended to spare people's feelings. Clear constant labeling of opinion (particularly if not backed up by facts). More scrutiny/skepticism/fact checking. No scams, cons, cheats. Help us be better and kinder to each other.

There's more...it's all so broken. It's too much.

I want out.

We hear the depth of your pain and despair, and our hearts ache with you. The weight of this broken world is heavy, and the longing for relief—even the thought of escape—is a cry we take before the Lord with urgency and compassion. You are not alone in this struggle, though it may feel that way. The darkness you describe is real, but so is the light of Christ, who came to bring hope to the hopeless and healing to the brokenhearted.

First, we must address the thoughts of self-harm with the seriousness they demand. The desire to end your life is not a sign of weakness but a sign that your soul is in agony. Scripture tells us, *"The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly"* (John 10:10). The enemy of your soul would have you believe that death is the only escape, but Jesus offers life—true life, eternal life, and life with purpose even in the midst of pain. We rebuke the spirit of despair that whispers lies of worthlessness and hopelessness. You are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and your life has value beyond what you can see in this moment.

The brokenness of the world is undeniable. Greed, violence, lust, and all manner of sin have corrupted what God intended for good. You are right that *"the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil"* (1 Timothy 6:10), and the world often seems to prioritize power and possession over love and justice. But we must also recognize that the solution is not found in human systems or ideals alone. The world will never be perfect until Christ returns to restore all things (Revelation 21:4-5). Until then, we are called to be salt and light (Matthew 5:13-16), to stand against injustice, and to extend grace even as we uphold God’s standards.

Your longing for a world without greed, violence, or exploitation is a reflection of God’s heart. He desires justice, mercy, and humility (Micah 6:8), and He calls His people to pursue these things. But we must also guard against the temptation to place our hope in human solutions alone. Governments, laws, and social programs can bring temporary relief, but they cannot heal the sin-sick heart of humanity. Only Jesus can do that. *"If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new"* (2 Corinthians 5:17). True change begins with repentance and faith in Him.

We also want to gently address the mention of lust in your request. While it is true that God designed physical intimacy to be a beautiful and sacred part of marriage between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24, Hebrews 13:4), the world often distorts this gift into something selfish and destructive. The boundaries you described—consent, adulthood, and commitment—are important, but they are not enough. God’s design for intimacy is rooted in covenant love, not just mutual agreement. Any sexual activity outside of marriage is fornication, and it grieves the heart of God because it separates what He intended to be whole. We encourage you to seek purity in your thoughts and actions, trusting that God’s ways are higher and lead to true fulfillment.

As for the pain you feel, we want you to know that God sees you. He collects every tear in His bottle (Psalm 56:8) and promises to be near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). You may not see a way forward, but He does. We pray that you would encounter His presence in a tangible way—that you would feel His arms around you, holding you steady when the world feels like it’s crumbling.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our dear brother/sister who is in deep pain. Lord, You are the God who sees, the God who hears, and the God who heals. We ask that You would draw near to them in this moment of despair. Surround them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Break the chains of hopelessness and fill them with the hope that only comes from You.

Father, we rebuke the spirit of suicide and death that seeks to steal, kill, and destroy. We declare that Your Son, Jesus Christ, came to give life abundantly (John 10:10). We ask that You would reveal Yourself to them in a powerful way—through Your Word, through the love of others, or through a supernatural encounter with Your presence. Let them know that they are not alone, that You are with them, and that You have a purpose for their life.

Lord, we also pray for the brokenness of this world. You are a God of justice, and we ask that You would raise up men and women who will stand for truth, righteousness, and compassion. Help us to be instruments of Your peace, to love our neighbors as ourselves, and to point others to the hope found in Christ.

Father, we ask for healing—emotional, spiritual, and even physical healing if that is Your will. Give them the strength to take one step at a time, trusting in You. Surround them with godly community, with people who will speak life into them and walk alongside them in this journey.

And Lord, we ask that You would guard their heart and mind. Protect them from the lies of the enemy and fill them with Your truth. Help them to fix their eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of their faith (Hebrews 12:2). May they find rest in You, knowing that You are their refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1).

We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above all names, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). It is through His blood that we have access to You, Father, and it is by His power that we find hope. We trust You to move in this situation, to bring light into the darkness, and to restore what has been broken.

In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

If you are feeling overwhelmed, we strongly encourage you to reach out to someone you trust—a pastor, a counselor, or a friend who loves the Lord. You do not have to carry this burden alone. There are also helplines and resources available for those struggling with suicidal thoughts. Please consider contacting one of these organizations for immediate support.

You are loved. You are seen. And there is hope in Christ. Hold on to that truth, even if it feels faint right now. God is not done with you, and He has a plan for your life. *"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope"* (Jeremiah 29:11). Cling to Him, and let Him carry you through this storm.

We're here with you, friend, in the depth of your pain. We feel the weight of this broken world too, and it's okay to not be okay. You're not alone in your struggle, and we want you to know that your life has immense value and purpose, even when it doesn't feel that way.

We understand the urge to escape the constant ache, but we want to remind you that there's a better way out than the one you're considering. Jesus came to give us life, abundant and full (John 10:10). He sees your tears, your despair, and He's right there with you, offering hope and healing (Psalm 34:18).

The world is broken, yes, but so are we. Greed, violence, and lust have corrupted what God intended for good. But we can't lose hope. We must keep fighting for justice, mercy, and humility (Micah 6:8), and trust that Jesus is the only one who can truly heal our sin-sick hearts (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Let's pray together:

Dear Lord, we come to You today with our dear friend who's in deep pain. Lord, You see them, You hear them, and You heal them. Surround them with Your peace, break the chains of hopelessness, and fill them with Your hope.

Father, we rebuke the spirit of suicide and death that seeks to steal, kill, and destroy. We declare that Jesus came to give life abundantly. Reveal Yourself to them in a powerful way, through Your Word, through the love of others, or through a supernatural encounter with Your presence.

Lord, we also pray for the brokenness of this world. Raise up men and women who will stand for truth, righteousness, and compassion. Help us to be instruments of Your peace, to love our neighbors as ourselves, and to point others to the hope found in Christ.

Father, we ask for healing - emotional, spiritual, and even physical if that's Your will.

We pray all of this in Jesus' name. Amen.

I think we can and should do what we can using human systems to make things better. Saying only God/Jesus can fix it sounds like giving up and taking the easier path of inaction. Don't just pray - DO SOMETHING peacefully to make things better.

If you are upset about the world, you aren't alone. Many people have sought solitude away from the world with God in religious life within a monastery or convent. Maybe God is calling you to a religious life with other people in this manner. Here is a resource for the USA to learn more. There are also other options. God bless you.
