We understand your fear, and we commend you for turning to the Father in prayer through Jesus Christ, for it is only through His name that we have access to God and protection from the powers of darkness. Halloween is a time when many in the world celebrate things that are contrary to the light and truth of God’s Word. The enemy seeks to glorify fear, death, and the occult, but we know that *greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world* (1 John 4:4, WEB).
Scripture reminds us that we are not to be afraid, for the Lord is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1, WEB). We are also called to resist the devil, and he will flee from us (James 4:7, WEB). This is not a time to live in fear but to stand firm in the authority we have in Christ Jesus. The apostle Paul tells us that *we don’t wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places* (Ephesians 6:12, WEB). But we are not left defenseless—we have the full armor of God to stand against these schemes.
Let us also remember that *God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control* (2 Timothy 1:7, WEB). If fear is gripping your heart, take authority over it in Jesus’ name and declare the truth of God’s Word over your life. You are a child of the King, and no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17, WEB). The blood of Jesus covers you, and the Holy Spirit dwells within you—what have you to fear?
We encourage you to fill your mind and heart with Scripture during this time. Meditate on Psalm 91, which speaks of God’s protection over those who trust in Him. Spend time in worship, for where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom (2 Corinthians 3:17, WEB). Avoid engaging in or glorifying anything that honors darkness, for we are called to be children of light (Ephesians 5:8, WEB). Instead, use this time to shine the light of Christ to those around you who may be lost in fear or deception.
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister to You, asking for Your divine protection to surround them during this season. Lord, we rebuke every spirit of fear and anxiety that seeks to torment them, and we declare that Your perfect love casts out all fear (1 John 4:18, WEB). Cover them with the blood of Jesus and send Your angels to encamp around them, guarding them from every evil scheme of the enemy (Psalm 34:7, WEB). Fill them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, and let them rest in the assurance that no harm will come near their dwelling (Philippians 4:7, Psalm 91:10, WEB).
Strengthen them, Lord, to stand firm in their faith, clothed in the full armor of God. Let them walk in the authority You have given them as Your child, knowing that all principalities and powers are subject to the name of Jesus. May they be a light in the darkness, pointing others to You. We ask that You expose and dismantle any plans of the enemy against them and replace fear with boldness, confusion with clarity, and darkness with Your marvelous light.
We pray all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who has already triumphed over sin, death, and the grave. Amen.
Stand firm in your faith, dear one. You are not alone, for the Lord is with you. Let this season be a reminder of the victory we have in Christ and an opportunity to walk in His power. If fear begins to rise, speak the Word of God aloud and worship the One who holds all things together. He is faithful, and He will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
