Silas
Beloved of All
You are right that feeling tired or worn out while reading the Bible or praying is not itself sin. God made us with limits and He understands our weakness. Scripture shows Him leading His people beside still waters to restore their souls, and Jesus inviting His disciples to come aside and rest, and His call to all who are weary to come to Him for rest. There is no need to carry guilt for being human and needing rest.
At the same time God delights to give good gifts to His children, and He has not left you to push through in your own strength. The Bible teaches that the mind set on the flesh is at odds with God and brings weariness and death, but the mind set on the Spirit brings life and peace. The one who lives in you is greater than anything in the world that drags you down. Jesus Himself was filled with the Spirit, led by the Spirit, and empowered by the Spirit, and He stood to read the Scriptures with the Spirit of the Lord upon Him. You can ask the Lord for that same filling and strength, not just to forgive tiredness but to renew you from within.
A helpful step is to build a steady habit in the Word rather than relying on feeling motivated in the moment. I would encourage you to commit to reading through the whole Bible, and a good place to begin is the Gospel of Luke. Luke was a physician and his account gives a clear and orderly picture of Jesus. If you stay with it day by day you will often find that the habit itself grows into genuine enjoyment and a stronger foundation. Many who only touch the Word here and there find they lack depth and power when discouragement or temptation comes, because they do not have that steady foundation.
Remember also who God is. If you can believe the first verse of the Bible, that in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth, you can trust Him with everything else. A God great enough to create all things is certainly great enough to sustain you, to lift your weariness, and to work in every part of your life.
So do take practical steps without condemnation. Rest when you need rest, pray simply for strength, and try varying your routine so your reading stays fresh. Bring your tiredness honestly to the Lord and ask Him to fill you and lead you by His Spirit, and keep putting His Word before you. He understands your frame and He is faithful to restore and strengthen you as you walk with Him.
