We join together with you in prayer in Jesus' name for this season of moving and transition and for the many desires of your heart that you have poured out.
We hear your longing for a fresh start, for a safe place for you and your cats, for peace for your mom, your three children and your pets, for freedom from control and harm, and for the joy of looking and feeling your best. We also hear your deep desire for a godly husband, your Boaz, and for a marriage that reflects God's goodness, as well as dreams of travel and a home of your own, whether by the beach or in places you have never been like Hawaii, Bora Bora, Fiji or elsewhere. We bring all of this before the Lord, asking that His will be done above our own, for we know He loves you and cares for every detail of your life.
We want to gently and lovingly speak truth over a few things you mentioned. We understand the desire to look gorgeous, fabulous and flawless, to have highlights and to be tanned and put together, and God does delight in beauty, but Scripture reminds us that true beauty is not only outward. 1 Peter 3:3-4 says Let your beauty be not just the outward adorning of braiding the hair, and of wearing gold, or of putting on fine clothing, but in the hidden person of the heart, in the incorruptible adornment of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God. Proverbs 31:30 also says Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears Yahweh, she shall be praised. We pray you will grow in that inner beauty and find your confidence first in Christ, while also caring for yourself in a healthy and modest way that honors Him, 1 Timothy 2:9.
We also want to address language out of love. You used phrases like fine ass guy and shite crew, and we encourage you in the Lord to let your speech be wholesome and grace filled. Ephesians 4:29 says Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but only what is good for building others up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear. And Colossians 3:8 says But now you also put away all these, anger, wrath, malice, slander, and shameful speaking out of your mouth. God hears our hearts and He calls us to reflect Him even in how we speak about others and about the husband we hope for.
We rejoice that you desire a Boaz, a godly husband, and we affirm God's design for marriage as a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman. We pray not for a casual partner or boyfriend but for a godly courtship that leads to marriage with a fellow believer in Christ, for 2 Corinthians 6:14 says Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. A Boaz is a man of character, faith, provision and protection, as seen in the book of Ruth, and we pray you will be prepared as a Ruth, faithful, kind and rooted in the Lord, waiting in purity. For any relationship, we must remember that sex before or outside of marriage is fornication or adultery and does not honor God, Hebrews 13:4 says Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. So we pray for a courtship that honors God in purity and looks toward marriage.
You quoted Deuteronomy 28:13 that you will be the head and not the tail. We love that you are standing on the Word, and we remind you that this promise was given to Israel as they obeyed the voice of the Lord, Deuteronomy 28:1 says It shall happen, if you shall listen diligently to Yahweh your God's voice, to observe to do all his commandments. True favor comes not from speaking it alone but from walking in obedience and submission to Christ. And Psalm 37:4 says Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart, when those desires are aligned with His will. Sometimes our dreams for travel, a timeshare, a house by the island, a car, or even a five year plan must be laid at His feet. Proverbs 16:3 says Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed. And Matthew 6:33 says But seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. We pray you will seek Him first and trust Him with where you live, whether that is Hawaii, the islands, Europe, or right where He plants you.
We also lift up your concern about control, negative words, and spiritual opposition. You are right to want freedom in Christ. Ephesians 6:12 says For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Yet our victory is in Jesus, not in our own cursing or binding with harsh words, but in His name and His blood. We pray for protection over you, your mom, your children and your pets, that no harm or hateful word would prosper, and that God would turn what is meant for evil into good, Romans 8:28. Psalm 91:11 says For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways.
We thank you for calling on the name of Jesus and the blood of Jesus, for it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We praise God that you love Jesus and we encourage you to continue to trust Him not only for favor and miracles but for salvation, forgiveness, and daily grace.
Now we pray together.
Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You for our sister and her family. We ask for Your extraordinary favor and peace over her move, that You would provide a safe, affordable, and good smelling positive environment for her and her cats, a place of her own where she can dwell in safety and steward well what You provide. We ask for Your hand upon her mom, her three children and her pets, that You would guard their lives, minds and bodies, heal any pain, and let them hear each other well and live in unity. Lord, remove any controlling influence and let no weapon formed against them prosper, Isaiah 54:17. Let negative words and hate fall to the ground and not take root, and let their hearts be filled with Your highly favored grace.
Lord, we ask for Your will for a godly husband. If it is Your will, bring her Boaz in Your perfect timing, a man who loves You first, who will love her as Christ loves the church, Ephesians 5:25, and who will be a good spiritual leader for a future marriage. Prepare her to be a fun, funny, happy, likeable and loveable wife, but more than that a woman of noble character, faithful, wise and pure, who delights in You. Keep her from any relationship that would pull her from You, and keep her courtship pure and honoring to You, with marriage as the goal.
Father, we commit her five year plan to You, her desire to get back in shape, to care for her body as Your temple, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, and to use her gifts well. Teach her to number her days and walk in wisdom, Psalm 90:12. For her dreams of seeing the world, of a timeshare in Hawaii, of Bora Bora, Fiji, Italy, Thailand or a quiet home by the beach, we ask that You align her desires with Yours and open or close doors according to Your perfect plan, Jeremiah 29:11. Give her contentment in all circumstances, Philippians 4:11, and joy that is not dependent on place or possession.
We ask for miracles, favor upon favor, provision for needs like housing and transportation, but above all for spiritual growth, for a heart that always looks to You and knows she is already highly favored in Christ, Ephesians 1:6. Let her look fabulous not only outwardly but radiantly with the joy of the Lord upon her. Guard her mouth and let her speech be filled with grace and truth. We bind the work of the enemy in Jesus' name and loose Your peace, healing and hope. Let Your will be done in her life and family, and let her hear Your voice clearly.
We thank You Jesus, we love You, and we trust You with all these things. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
