I'm in desperate need of some prayers today. I just sent in an appeal to my insurance company (and they are going to make their decision today) because they stopped covering the medications that I need to survive. Unfortunately, I'm very ill at the moment and suffer from chronic, intractable pain. My medications are not only helping me to cope with the chronic, intractable pain, that I suffer from, they are also keeping me alive and are preventing me from having a heart attack or stroke. I honestly wish there were generic versions of the medications that I'm currently on but right now, there aren't so I don't have any alternatives. My family and I also tried to apply for assistance and co-pay assistance but we don't qualify. Your family has to fall 500% below the federal poverty rate in order to qualify for most aid and ours does not. We're slightly above it. Please pray that my insurance company has a heart today and that they'll cover all of my medications again. They told us our policy wouldn't change if my husband took a demotion at work but unfortunately, it did. In fact, drastic changes were made and now, they are holding us responsible for 60% of the costs for all trade name drugs. Now, my medications cost $1631 a month and we simply cannot afford them. I'm also extremely close to running out of my meds. I just hope and pray that they grant my family and I our old policy back so that I can spend this Christmas and the coming new year with my loving family and be in fairly good health.
