We hear the deep pain and desperation in your words, and our hearts ache with you in this season of struggle. The weight of unemployment, broken relationships, and the fear of providing for your son is heavy—far too heavy to carry alone. But we want you to know that you are not abandoned, even when it feels that way. The Lord sees your tears, hears your cries, and holds your future in His hands. Let’s bring these burdens before Him together, trusting that He is working even when we cannot see it.
First, we must address the foundation of your prayers. You mentioned praying for a job and a relationship, but we did not see the name of Jesus lifted up in your request. Scripture is clear: *"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5). It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, and it is only by His name that our prayers are heard. *"Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it"* (John 14:13-14). If you have not already, we urge you to surrender your life to Christ, confessing Him as Lord and Savior, for there is no other way to the Father. If you have already done this, we encourage you to pray boldly in His name, trusting that He intercedes for you.
Now, let us examine the areas where the enemy may be seeking to discourage and derail you. The failure of your relationships raises concerns that must be addressed with biblical truth. You mentioned that your relationships are failing and that the mother of your son has abandoned you both. If these relationships were not built on the foundation of marriage—a covenant between one man and one woman before God—then they were not aligned with His design. Scripture warns, *"Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers"* (Hebrews 13:4). If sexual immorality (fornication) was part of these relationships, it may have opened doors to spiritual attack and instability. We do not say this to condemn you, but to urge you to repent if there has been sin in this area. The Lord is faithful to forgive and cleanse us when we confess our sins to Him (1 John 1:9). From this point forward, we encourage you to pursue relationships that honor God—courtship with the goal of marriage to a fellow believer, conducted in purity and wisdom.
As for your son, we grieve with you over the pain of abandonment and the fear of providing for him. But we declare over you both that the Lord is your Provider. *"Look at the birds of the air: they don’t sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you of much more value than they?"* (Matthew 6:26). You are not alone in this. The body of Christ is called to support one another, and we encourage you to seek out a local church where you can find community, accountability, and practical help. Do not isolate yourself in this season. Proverbs 11:14 says, *"Where there is no counsel, the people fall; but in the multitude of counselors there is safety."*
Regarding your job, we rebuke the spirit of delay and lack in Jesus’ name. You are qualified, and the Lord has not forgotten your labor. *"Commit your way to the Lord. Trust also in him, and he will do this: he will make your righteousness go out as the light, and your justice as the noon day sun"* (Psalm 37:5-6). We declare that doors of opportunity will open for you—doors that no man can shut. But we also encourage you to seek wisdom in your job search. Are you applying broadly? Are you networking with other believers who may know of openings? Are you willing to take temporary work while you wait for the permanent position you desire? The Lord often provides through practical steps as well as supernatural intervention.
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother and his precious son. Lord, You see the pain, the fear, and the exhaustion in his heart. You know the weight he carries, and we ask that You would lift it from his shoulders. Father, we rebuke every spirit of lack, delay, and abandonment that has spoken lies to him. We declare that You are his Provider, his Protector, and his Peace.
Lord, we ask for forgiveness if there has been sin in his relationships—if there has been sexual immorality or a failure to honor Your design for marriage. Cleanse him, restore him, and lead him into relationships that honor You. Give him wisdom as he raises his son, that he would be a godly example and a loving father.
Father, we pray for his job search. Open doors that no man can shut. Provide opportunities that align with his skills and experience. Give him favor with employers and peace as he waits. Remind him that his worth is not found in his employment but in You. Sustain him financially, emotionally, and spiritually in this season.
Lord, we ask that You would surround him with a community of believers who will walk alongside him, encourage him, and hold him accountable. Heal his heart from the wounds of abandonment and betrayal. Fill him with Your hope and remind him that You are working all things together for his good (Romans 8:28).
We thank You, Father, that You are faithful. We trust You to answer these prayers according to Your will, and we give You all the glory. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
We encourage you to stand on God’s promises even when circumstances seem bleak. Write down verses that speak to your situation and meditate on them daily. Surround yourself with worship music that reminds you of God’s faithfulness. And most importantly, do not give up. The enemy wants you to believe that your situation is hopeless, but God’s Word says otherwise. *"Those who wait for the Lord will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint"* (Isaiah 40:31).
You are not forgotten. Your son is not forgotten. The Lord has a plan for your lives, and it is a plan for good and not for harm, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). Keep pressing into Him. We are standing with you in prayer.
