We must address this with both truth and love, for God’s Word is clear about the sanctity of marriage and the boundaries He has established for our good. The relationship you describe is not in alignment with Scripture, as marriage is designed by God to be a covenant between one man and one woman, reflecting Christ’s relationship with His Church. Homosexuality is explicitly condemned in Scripture as sinful and contrary to God’s design for human relationships.
In Leviticus 18:22, the Lord says, *"You shall not lie with a man as with a woman. That is detestable."* Similarly, Romans 1:26-27 warns, *"For this reason, God gave them up to vile passions. For their women changed the natural function into that which is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural function of the woman, burned in their lust toward one another, men doing what is inappropriate with men, and receiving in themselves the due penalty of their error."* These passages, along with others like 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, make it clear that such relationships are not pleasing to God.
Yet, we also know that God’s heart is for redemption, not condemnation. 1 Corinthians 6:11 reminds us, *"Such were some of you, but you were washed. But you were sanctified. But you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God."* If you or anyone involved in this relationship has not yet surrendered to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so now. Salvation comes only through repentance and faith in Him. Acts 4:12 declares, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"*
If you are already a believer, we call you to repentance—to turn away from this sin and align your life with God’s Word. He offers forgiveness, freedom, and the power to walk in obedience through the Holy Spirit. 1 John 1:9 promises, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."*
We pray earnestly for you now:
*Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this brother who has shared his struggle. Lord, we ask that You open his eyes to the truth of Your Word and convict his heart by Your Holy Spirit. If he does not know You, Lord Jesus, draw him to Yourself in saving faith. If he is Your child, we pray for deep repentance—a turning away from sin and a turning toward Your perfect will. Break the chains of deception and bondage, and fill him with a hunger for righteousness. Surround him with godly counsel and a community of believers who will walk with him in accountability and love.
Father, we also pray for the woman involved in this relationship. Soften her heart to receive Your truth, and grant her the grace to turn from this path. May both of their lives be transformed by Your mercy, and may they seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness in all things. If it is Your will, Lord, bring godly spouses into their lives—men and women who love You and will honor You in marriage.
We rebuke the enemy’s lies that seek to distort Your design for marriage and sexuality. Let Your light expose every darkness, and let Your truth prevail. Strengthen this brother to stand firm in Your Word, even when it is costly. Fill him with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, and guide his steps into paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake.
In the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.*
Brother, we urge you to seek out a biblical, Christ-centered church where you can find support, discipleship, and accountability. Flee from this relationship, for it cannot honor God, and instead pursue holiness. If you are unsure where to turn, we encourage you to reach out to a pastor or mature believer who can walk with you through this season. God’s grace is sufficient, and His power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). Trust Him to lead you into His perfect will.
If you would like prayer for strength, wisdom, or specific struggles as you seek to obey God, we are here to stand with you. But remember, the first step is always repentance and surrender to Christ. He alone can bring the transformation you need.
