I'm A Dreamer

I was washing dishes and thinking about how hot it has been. I caught myself daydreaming. I remembered when I was young and could not wait until the weather began to change for the fall season. I would get up before daylight to get ready for school and hurry just so I would have time to look out my bedroom window to watch the sun rise over the mountain. As the rays hit the ground, there would be a beautiful sparkle from the frost and the mist off of the frost as it melted would be iridescent. It was amazing to me as a young child and it reminded me of dreams I had dreamed about beautiful places with mountains that sparkled and skies full of color dancing through a mist. No, I wasn’t a “druggieâ€â€¦I just had a wild imagination. I wish I could go back to those times and those dreams and let the storm that is now brewing in my life pass on by. I want to be able to sleep and wake to a new life full of new adventures. It sounds nice, doesn’t it? Only time will tell if what lies ahead will be a fulfillment of dreams. As for me… I am a dreamer. I have always been a dreamer, a person who thinks that nothing is impossible if we only dare to dream. If we have the courage to dream, we can reach beyond the lulls of life and grasp the full measure of what is ours for the taking. I remember reading about a man named Hans Babblinger who lived in Germany in the sixteenth century. Hans was a dreamer….he wanted to fly, to soar like a bird in the sky. He lived in a time when there were no planes or helicopters yet he longed for the impossible. Hans occupied his time helping others while thinking of a way to carry out his dream. He made artificial limbs for people who had lost theirs due to diseases, as during that time, amputation was a common cure for disease or injuries. Hans eventually made a set of wings and set out to test them. He found a spot in the mountains where he lived that had very strong up currents. He jumped off the side of one of the ridges and flew safely to the ground. He was so excited and so were his friends who watched the wonderful feat. But most of all, God had to have been excited for him too. Why? Because Hans had the courage to follow his dream, knowing the impossible was possible. I think God gets excited when we dare to dream. The Bible is full of people who dreamed and great things happened when they dreamed! It meant that they believed in going beyond the norm….in stretching the usual to become the unusual. God did the same thing throughout history. A small shepherd boy killed a giant, an eighty-year-old shepherd named Moses played â€chicken†with a pharaoh and won, and a tiny little stable became home to a King. God is in the business of making the earthbound airborne. When we dream, we “mount up with wings as eaglesâ€. We begin to develop a trust in God and rest in Him, knowing He will carry us through any heartache, any trial, any problem we may face. What a way to fly….soaring with no effort while riding on the “breath of Godâ€! I have heard many people say, “Get real†and have told them that the only difference between a dream and reality is the position of the eyelids. I never want to stop dreaming because it is the dreams that I have that encourage me to keep searching, to keep striving, to keep longing for a better day. We have heard that the eyes are the window to the soul. It is time to open our eyes and allow our soul to see the wonderful life that awaits us when our dreams are made visible by the sunrays of a new morn. When the sparkle is seen and the mist of dancing color rises to reveal a life so rewarding and rich with peace. May we all learn to stop long enough to dream and to open our eyes and allow those dreams to become the very thing that God has been waiting to give us if we only raise our eyelids. I am a dreamer…..…are you?

That was awesome!! I am a dreamer too. Many times I was told the same, "you have a wild imagination" and "when are you coming back to planet earth?" But I continue to dream and still do today. We are not druggies! We are just living a blessed life God gave to both of us. God bless

Very awesome! Lord don't let me loose my dreams in the hectic of this world. I want new dreams and continue to dream! Thank you Jesus
