If you remember to pray for us today

Your cry has been heard and you are not forgotten while you are still breathing. You are not unseen. If you belong to Christ you are a member of His Body, and when one member suffers the whole Body suffers with it. The silence and the neglect you feel from men is real and painful, and the hunger that prays with you is a heavy trial, but it is not a sign that God has turned His face away.

You asked for one thing above all, that your faith would not break, and that is what we have asked God for on your behalf. Scripture teaches that to suffer affliction is not the portion of those who are utterly forsaken. God honored even His own Son by leading Him through sufferings, and sufferings become a perfecting and a way of salvation when they are borne with faith and patience. Do not think you are disregarded as worthy of no account. It has been the portion of the noblest men and women who have walked with God to make the journey of life through trials. Faith needs a generous and vigorous soul that rises above what the eyes see and what the stomach feels, and looks to the promise of God who does not lie. It is not by believing only for a moment, but by enduring in that same faith through the same sufferings, that hope is made firm and takes deep root.

So we have prayed for you in this way. Lord Jesus Christ, You know these Your people by name. Do not let their faith break. In their hunger, in their fear of another day without food, in their fear that You have hidden Your face, keep them. Show them that You are near. Give them this day their daily bread, as You have taught us to ask. Strengthen what is weak, confirm what is wavering, and let Your presence be more real to them than the silence around them. Keep them in Your mercy until the night passes and the morning comes, and let them know they are remembered both by You and by Your people.

You asked us to remember you, and we will. You are not alone in this pain. Hold fast to the Lord who for your sake took flesh and suffered, who knows hunger and forsakenness and who lives to make intercession for you. The just shall live by faith, and God who has called you will also deliver and sustain you. May He give you today enough to live, and more than all, faith that does not fail.

Your cry has been heard and you are not forgotten. Thank you for speaking so honestly about what weighs on you, not just the fear of death but the deeper pain of feeling unseen, unheard, and hungry while you are still alive.

We will pray as you asked, not simply for survival, but that your faith would not break. You said dying is quick but silence and neglect and an empty stomach are breaking you day after day. That fear of waking to the same pain and the same hunger, and the fear that God Himself has turned away, is a heavy burden to carry. It is right to bring that fear to Jesus.

Hear this truth from Scripture. The faith by which we trust Jesus is not something we manufacture on our own. It is a gift from God. By grace we are saved through faith and that faith itself is given to us. God gives to each one a measure of faith. There are also moments when God gives a special strength of faith for a particular need, and that strength may not feel present at every moment. Even great men and women of faith had lapses. Abraham, a man of faith, once acted out of fear. Elijah, after great courage, once fled and hid in a cave. Feeling your faith shake under hunger and silence does not mean you have failed or that God has rejected you. It means you are human and you need the One who gives faith to sustain you.

Faith is not built on feelings or on seeing something spectacular. Feelings change with hunger, with loneliness, with long nights. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. It is confidence anchored in what God has said in His Word, not in how we feel in the moment. Without faith it is impossible to please God, but that faith looks to His promise, not to our circumstances. His Word says He does not forget His own. If you belong to Jesus, you are part of His body, and He has not turned His face away even when it feels that way.

The Bible also shows us that having faith does not guarantee that we will be spared from suffering in this life. The hall of faith in Hebrews tells of some who were delivered and some who suffered, some who were kept from death and some who died still trusting God, not yet having received all that was promised. They all died in faith. Faith does not always remove the pain, but it holds us to the One who will keep His promise in the end. The just shall live by faith, which means we keep trusting day by day, even when the day is hard.

True faith, when it is alive, also shows itself in love. Scripture says faith without works is dead, not because works earn salvation, but because real faith changes a life and moves us to act. To say we have faith and then do nothing for a brother or sister in need is empty. If we say we believe, our faith must be seen in what we do. That is why your words call us to more than prayer. Those who are part of the body of Christ must not offer only words but must share what we have, so that you are not left to starve. God often provides daily bread through His people, and we ask Him to move hearts to provide for you.

So we pray for you now. Father, in the name of Jesus, do not let their faith break. You see them, You know each name, each empty stomach, each sleepless night. Remind them that they are not forgotten while they breathe. Give them today their daily bread. Lift the silence and the neglect by moving Your people to act with real help. When fear whispers that You have turned away, answer with Your Word that You are near to the brokenhearted and that You will never leave nor forsake those who trust in Christ. Keep them living by faith in Jesus alone, who is our righteousness, and guard that faith until the day You fulfill every promise. Amen.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer.

We have been lifting up your deep and honest cry before the Lord, that you are not scared of dying but of being forgotten while you are still breathing, and that your faith would not break under the weight of silence and neglect and hunger. We have prayed specifically that the Lord would not let you face another twenty four hours with no food, that He would lift the hopeless pain of waking to the same suffering, and that you would know without doubt that you are not abandoned and that He has not turned His face away from you. We have asked the Father to remind you that you are a precious part of His body and that you are seen and remembered, for He has promised in Psalm 34:18 that He is near to the brokenhearted and in Isaiah 49:15 that He will not forget you, and Jesus Himself said in Matthew 25:40 that whatever is done for the least of His brothers and sisters is done for Him.

We pray in Jesus Name that God would break the silence around you with His presence, provide bread for your empty stomachs, give you strength for each new day, and keep your faith strong when you feel afraid, even afraid that He is distant.
