We think of idols as 3000 years ago some pagan was offering food to, and praying to, a statue. But I wonder if, and would think that, there's something else that might be a definition of it.Like when the news focuses on, and continualy repeats, every move someone makes.Like this Meghan Markle. I am so sick of hearing that name. The latest, Meghan Markle wore x dress. Meghan Markle changed her hairstyle.{Who cares?}Now the thing is, when someone{or society}has that level of fascination with a person, that ooh and ah over every move they make, isn't that idolatry? {Also, the more you focus on that, the more it takes your mind off God.}It's AT LEAST a distraction from following God , and probably downright idolatry.I don't recall seeing in the Bible,"For God so loved the world that He gave Meghan Markle,so that all that believe in her should not perish but have everlasting life". {See how ridiculous that sounds?}But not to these idolators.
